yes please poke buffalo with a large stick! they need to get their butts movin! I think it would be alot easier to wait if we knew there was SOMETHING going on there but because there is nothing happening for any of us it makes the wait harder

Hi Everyone! i have been out of the loop for several months now. My husband and I began filed for my permanent residency back in December. I entered into Canada as a visitor in Feb. and have been living here ever since. I am getting worried about my application because, I still do not have my own account yet. If we log in under my husbands name it says my app started being processed on May 9th. They received it back in January. I wonder when I will have my own account and identification number? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

did you receive an email/letter from buffalo with a file number starting with F? and where did you list your address on the application? Because if you haven't changed it and they send you stuff through the mail you wouldn't get it (if you used your US) as it would go to whatever address you list on your application. (Hope someone is checking your mail for ya )

Yes, We had someone checking our mail, but we also changed our mailing address with the post office. So, our mail had been forwarded. But nothing from immigration. We were fearful to change our address with immigration because we thought they might start the whole application process over again if they found out we were living in Canada.

I do not know what to think anymore..i am truly becoming discouraged.

You never got an email with the file number? Also, you should check on e-cas using your receipt number that you got when you paid the fees, and your details. See if that lets you login. But anyway, that's not a problem, as long as your husband can view the status. Don't be discouraged, you've been away for quite a while, but in the December group, everyone has been waiting. You are still lucky to have "In Process" ON e-cas ! People here are waiting even for that...It's not just you, the Buffalo office has a new computerized system launching, and that's causing huge delays in everyone's file. My husband's e-cas just got active last week to say "Application received" thats it, and I am probably just a week or 2 after you. So hang in there.... We all are sailing in the same boat !

You should make sure someone checks your mail. I assume you would have already got the AOR, which is an email to your email address stating your file number. Next step from here should be a letter in the mail which will be your Initial Assessment document stating whether they require any further documents or an interview.

Have you received AOR yet? (It would be a simple email/letter we received your app here is your F######## file number) if you have then you would be able to log on with that file number.

I dont think they would start your whole app over again...(My hubby is in Canada and we've applied outland...then again he was here when we sent his app in) someone else will have to chime in on that one.

if you included any email address for yourself in the app then check your email and spam folders look for an email with (DXL) F####### as the subject line.

Very Encouraging...I will expect the letter any day now I hope I did not delete the email by accident. I think we will go ahead and change our address with immigration. We applied with an outland app, because we were still in Florida at the time. My husband is Canadian and got a job in Ottawa so he moved up first. i waited a bit and followed in Feb. i am just happy to be here...but really in need of health insurance, and as you know, I need my Perm resident card to apply for my health card. Good luck to all of you still waiting.

Hi Florida. It's nice to hear from you again! Yes, I wouldn't worry about your lack of information... that's pretty much normal for the December Buffalo group! It is very stressful, though.

I'm not sure which province you're in, or what their health card ID requirements are, but I just wanted to add that you should probably take a look at it ahead of time. For example, in addition to needing the PR card and a passport, in Ontario you have to prove that you're a resident of the province. I didn't realize that, and now I have to wait to apply for OHIP so I can receive bank statements with my name and address on them.

A valid drivers license would also do it... but I didn't realize they'd make me give up my US license to get one! :'( I even e-mailed them to ask if I had to give it up, since it's the ID that matches my passport, and I'd still like to have it when I'm driving in the states... and they wrote back to say that as part of the "exchange" they take your old license and mail it back to wherever it came from.

Congrats Quakingaspen on landing and thank you from so many of us for all your dedication to this forum!

I am in Ottawa, and have already surrendered my Florida Drivers Lic. for a new Ontario one! I also have the bank statements etc.
Now we just wait on Buffalo. Since it is posted on my husbands account, that they began processing my application on May 9th, I would think they would put a letter in the mail.
Do you know if it is easy to change our address?

Aw, thank you! I :-* this forum, and will continue to stick with it until most of our group is through. It's good to see you back! I had been wondering about you.

I haven't had to do it, but from what I've read you just send a case-specific e-mail to the Buffalo office to let them know. You having an Ontario address should not be a problem. I was in Ontario for the whole process, and everything came through just fine.

There is (of course) variation, but my experience with the communications was like this:

Sponsorship approval: Mail
AOR: E-Mail
IA: Mail
PPR: E-Mail
Passport and COPR: Mail

What we've seen so far, most AOR's from Buffalo are coming by e-mail. And these are easy to get lost in your junk mail filter. If you get an Initial Assessment, it will probably come by paper mail, so that's what you'd be watching for next - especially since you're "In Process" now.

: But, as always, Buffalo is inconsistent, and anything Could happen. We've had a few applications sent off to satellite offices for processing, and I really don't know what the procedure will be like for those ones. The last PPR's from Buffalo were about a month ago. They've really ground to a halt.

Something that is puzzling me is what should we think when eCas is showing 'Application Received' for months with no IN PROCESS.
Shall we actually fear they have not even started to look at those files or is it that they have started processing but forgot to update eCas.
Initially i thought it was just due to the new system but i can see some of the more recent applications to Buffalo (January/February) going to IN PROCESS while many of our December Buffalo (or satellite) are still in APPLICATION RECEIVED.

Hi guys. I hope all of u are in good health. I just came here to tell that I got my visa on 13th. And I'll be landing in Vancouver on 08th june God Willing.

My best wishes for ppl who are still waiting. Soon u guys will also have the visa inur hands. Hang in there. My Ecas is still showing in process, so don't just rely on ecas. And also don't hesitate to contact ur VO, if required. Worst case will be that VO won't reply back. Some embassies do reply back. Sydney visa office is really good in replying back quickly.
