According to reports, the government wants to introduce a temporary permanent residence, called “conditional permanent residence”, for those coming to join their spouses. The temporary residence will be valid for two years. the spouse will have only a temporary permit for two years, and the full permanent residence will be granted only after two years of living with the spouse who sponsored.
if they are issuing temporary residence then processing time should be 1 week only not 8-24 months.

so that mean it still not applied yet???? i think this gonna take few months to be applied!!!!!!

True, as per the Artical, it seems like this not applied as yet.

Also, if it does then i believe it will only be applicable for the new Applicant.

i like this ...it should be like that ..at list, we don't have to be apart from our spouses that long..

Alright finally some progress.
My wife has her interview date for beginning of May.

Can someone tell me, if there is an average timeline from date of interview to DM? (based on past applicants)

Im the sponsor, My wife was out of India for 3 months on work. Do you think that will cause a delay? Doesnt it have to be more than 6 months or so to require a BC?

Yes Cival, it should be 6 months or more, so to require a BC. This is what I also heard.

sorry yug don't know...my lawyer applied for ours...i have a feeling they mailed it in only along with a $5 cheque

i emailed my MP on monday he replied back saying he will put in a req on monday. yesterday he said he will get the info by next week. i tot this was better than applying for CAIPS and wait for 6 weeks :|. lets see.

Did anyone get an interview after the online status changed to In PRocess ?

Mine has been In PRocess for 3 weeks now.
