Yeah and i think it will also help the visa offices to process applications faster because new list means less people will apply now and they will have a time to process old applications.

Is this CAP (20,000 Applications per Year) applicable over all for FSW in Canada or to each visa office ?

I think its applicable to each visa office.

As their as 45 Visa offices outside Canada, globally processing applications for FSW and if the Quota is 20,000 then each Visa office gets only 450 applicants to process each year which is too less. So I think its applicable to each visa office.

I just ask an immigration consultancy reps seconds ago and she said this will take effect December this year so she said I can still have the chance? I'm confused if I should rush my application and not be affected by this new policy. :-\ :'(

Federal Skilled Worker applications (see footnote 1) received by the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney on or after June 26, 2010, accompanied by the results of the principal applicant’s English or French language proficiency assessment,

does that mean that from now people have to send the IELTS result to CIO Nova Scotia?

cheers

Hi,

I too believe that cap of 20,000 visa is applicable to each visa office. Otherwise how it works!! But one more doubt... They says that new rule applicable to applications received by CIO from today onwards... that is for 29 professions... means... So cap of 20,000 is applications is applicable to existing FSW applicants as well. Am I correct?

The way I understand it...the CIO will approve 20,000 cases for All Visa offices, per noc...so it's become quite minimal and there would be tough competition now

As per my understanding, now CIO is going to be the filter. CIO will que the forms as per the local visa office. Each local visa office to have a 20,000 CAP and once this CAP is received, it will no longer accept the file for processing and will not forward it to local visa office in any case.

This may have been adopted to reduce the work load on Visa offices. This as per my understanding.

Hi,

Based on the info and guesses by all following may be the rule wef 26.06.10

1. There are 29 occupations from 26.06.10 and CIO will process only these occupations.
2. There will be a cap of 20,000 per occupation for all the CHCs around the world
3. FSW applications submitted/received by CIO before 26.06.10 will not be affected... means applications
recd till that date processing will be done for 38 occupations.
4. Cap of 20,000 is not applicable to existing FSW applications....

Please correct me if any of the above is wrong.... My only worry is that due to the new rule.... waiting period for existing applicants should not be more....
