I plan to send detailed documentation to London visa office in first week of July. I would like forum members’ opinion on my strategy to avoid the potential problem that I might face due to differences in my full name mentioned on my civil and academic documents.

My all academic documents show my & my father's name as given below:

My name: <first name> <last name>
Father's name: <first name> <last name>

Whereas civil documents ( national ID card , Passport, Birth certificate) read as:
My name: <first name> <last name> Khan
Father's name: <first name> <last name> Khan

Instead of revising all my civil or academic documents, I plan to get a cover letter from college and university and send it to VO in sealed envelope of original transcripts. This cover letter may have text like:
“Please find enclosed the original transcripts of Mr. <first name> <last name> Khan (National ID No. XXXXX-XXXXXXX-X) S/O Mr. <first name> <last name> Khan National ID No. XXXXX-XXXXXXX-X)--------------“

Please comment if this approach is appropriate or not?

hello friends,

i hope everything is going smooth with everybody, I am going to submit my final documents on August 10th.............if get my PCC smoothly without any problem. on 15th July i applied for Dubai PCC @ Dubai Police General Headquarters, they gave me 1 receipt showing collection date is 20th July, so i went on 20th they could not found where is my PCC and finally after 2 hours of searching they said come tomorrow, and again i went there 21st morning 7.45 AM again the same searching & searching for my PCC, @ 10.30 AM they come for a decision that my PCC is missing and asking me to provide passport copy with one photo so that they will give new PCC in 5 minutes time, unfortunately i don't have photographs with me that time so i told them i will come tomorrow with passport & photographs..........this is Dubai Police department work.

so frdz be very care full for documents.........please start collecting / applying documents in enough time.

I plan to submit mine 31st. this our thread has become inactive. I feel this stage is more important than the first hurdle at cio. we need to share more experience here and also share ideas on how best to present document. Please ensure you put complimentary card of the person giving you reference letter and also ensure that your salary is reflected on the letter i have seen a rejection based on this.

Also very important dont copy the exact duties on CIC website write your duties in your own words. Best of luck to us all

hi guys it might be too late but can you count me in? applied as FSW3 on march 3, 2010. recieved 1st aor on april 26, 2010. sent full docs to manila office on july 1, 2010. recieved 2nd aor on july 12, 2010. ecas status: recieved visa office.

We received your application for permanent residence on March 3, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on April 16, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Manila office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the Manila office on April 20, 2010. The Manila office may contact you.

HI guys ! congratulations for such a wonderful and informative forum. please count me in ur thread. my application was recieved by cio nova scotia on 29.03.10. but still i didn't got any reply from cio nova scotia.My bank gave the status of draft encashed on 29.04.2010. last year also i applied in july 2009 , draft got encashed 19.09.2009. but didn't got any information from nova scotia. in may 2010 returned draft with non-compliance letter. friends please help i don't know what to do. i am worried this time also i may fall in non-compliance stage. thanks in advance. lubob
