Even though migration, in short term brings fortune to immigrants, but in long run the immigrants could come up with many issues but after reading your post I'd like to say, ' considering the financial or political or security situations, for educated/talented resources, in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Burma, or Iranian nationals settled in Middle East the only option left is migration to Australia, Canada, or USA. Out of which Canadian migration is easiest one.'

Even if you wouldn't get any good job but sailing thru 1095 days to get your nationality certificate, hence passport is not a bad option by any means. After this period you may think about new options any time!
Indeed.

It has become popular for immigrants to get their citizenship here then apply for work as a foreigner back in their home country.

Middle East is also a good Option .... I have seen many people who got their Canadian Passport earning double than they had earned with the Indian passport .... Here in the middle East if you have any Asian Passport , they consider you as a low level expat but if its a Canadian, Euro , Ausis , US passport they pay more even if the Asian gives more turnover for the company and the others spent a lot of time boozing , partying

I read the link circulated in the previous Post
http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/commentators/johann-hari/the-dark-side-of-dubai-1664368.html
It clearly says what happened to the couple ... They mismanaged their funds , partying , boozing ... and this article is dated 2009 when the recession took place ....

And then the article says about the condition of the workers .... There are a few who are betrayed by emploment agencies but most of them are sending money back home and supporting their family members ....

People have different priorities in life. Some want to earn more money and can tolerate an uncertain immigration status, like expats in the Gulf. And they deserve a loud applause for their courage.

Others, like me, prefer modest earnings but a certain immigration status in Canada. By this I do not mean that high earnings are impossible for immigrants, obviously success stories can also be found. I had it enough living in the UK - the only thing that I remember now is endless nightmares about my visas being refused, my police warnings for coming late to report my new address (!), continuous immigration interviews at the border. Finally I got some peace after landing in Canada and I am happy.

I think people should clearly define their priorities before closing their accounts in the country they are moving from to Canada.

It is a pity that Marcus did not post any updates recently. His progress path would be very useful/interesting for new immigrants.

There is actually an industry for people applying to get their Canadian passports who have no intention of ever living in Canada.

There is actually an industry for people applying to get their Canadian passports who have no intention of ever living in Canada.
This refers to people who has got their citizenship through forged documents by not maintaining their residency period ..
But by staying for 4 years and getting one is well within the rules of the game ...
If successful after 5 years stay if else exit with a new passport . You can consider the passport as a reward for staying there 5 years
My opinion .....

Canada is not a prison sentence. If your goal is to obtain citizenship and not be a citizen then you have commited fraud from the beginning. Canada owes you nothing until you engage in the system. Vote and pay your taxes. If you want to freeload we already make enough of those here.

@CanadianJeepGuy

I expected this response .....
I think I made myself clear when I mentioned " If not successful exit " . There is no harm in trying .....
When applying for PR , only few check the reality
but during the PR wait period , applicants start going through these forums and know whats really happening
I have seen many people complaining about their situations there , they always have an option of exiting with their new passport
and travel easily global checkin for jobs...

Dear CanadianJeepGuy, I agree with you, Canada is not a prison...then why are you making it prison for immigrants. As long as they are fulfilling Canadian Govt requirements of residency or citizenship then why are you forcing them to stay in Canada!!!!

People are born free, let them be free!!!!

What exactly do you know of freedom?

No one has forced you to immigrate here. Anyone fortunate enough to survive the processing times should be grateful. If the applicants have fulfilled all the requirements necessary then good on them. The problem with people coming to Canada getting their citizenship and then leaving does not help Canada at all. That new citizen now has access to all the services but contributes nothing into the country while they live abroad.

If he obtained citizenship legally, then let it be...there are also "Canadian born" people who have been living abroad most of their lives - nothing wrong with that, so it shouldn't be an issue if a new citizen does that.

Canada should do what the UK does..

You must declare as part of the Citizenship application that it is your intention to reside permanently in the country. If you lie, your citizenship can be revoked. This does NOT currently apply if you are married to a citizen, although I think there are plans to remove that exclusion.

This will allow the "powers that be" to remove both PR and Citizenship in the case that is currently being discussed of an "economic citizen". Can't happen too soon!!!
