Email them, so you get an acknowledgement that you are overdue, then you can file a complaint with the some commissioner who investigates these overdue requests (some have actually had some very, very, very interesting results)
I may if I don't hear anything by the end of the week. I'm not going to sweat one or two days over the limit given the Canada Day holiday.

Took my notes 33 days I think, no big deal.. Your DM today 99% of the time means COPR is in the mail and could show up in your mailbox today even or some days from now, mine took 8 days after DM.. Congrats! 8)

I can't recall of a US application that was rejected from DM without any sort of intermediate contact from CIC for more documents. So, I'm hopeful.

I'll still update this thread once I eventually receive my GMCS notes. I think we have a sort of institutional shortfall of "case studies" on just how seemingly ordinary applications "should" process.

Yes, but for now the improvement is mixed. Some applicants from August and especially September are still waiting for processing, but a handful of applicants from as recently as March have received "Decision Made". A few pages back in this thread, one extremely lucky April applicant reported receiving DM.

This processing appears to be similar to that of this time last year, when CPC-Ottawa "caught up" on a number of family-class applicants in the queue. Excluding one odd 48-day submission (the user reported "application received" and SA-AOR on the same day, which seems very unusual), a handful of others last year were processed in 90-95 days, with August 2014 approvals. On the other hand, other users approved around the same time waited for 180-250 days. If Ottawa proceeds exactly as they did last year (extremely unlikely, of course), then an application submitted now would have the COPR issued in the early part of 2016.

Seems like it. Recently there have been a few who got COPR in the 3-6 months timelines that we saw last summer.

Sunset, you were sent to LA? That means there are red flags, so expect your application to be in-line with the processing times for LA, which right now is 29 months. They will most likely extend your meds. You can try going to your MP, but I don't know if you will have much luck.

Order your GCMS notes and see why you were flagged.
American applicants being xfered to LA is rare. Usually related to criminality or because of a history of past rejection/deportation. It is very unlikely for US/CDN couples to get suspected of marriage of convenience.. would have to be extreme like getting married on first meeting or massive age gap (like 50+).

According to the Immigration Ministers office and I have it in writing and I see a lot of April 2014 cases do not have their COPR all of the cases went to LA when ours did..there is a criminality issue but my husband has had a TRP for three years that took over 3.5 years to get...I do not have a problem with our case taking the 29 month or whatever it is, I have a problem with the case sitting for for 9 months and no one even touching it that comes int he case notes...from August 2014 till June 2015 the case was only touched when we requested case notes...Medical was extended and more medical was requested , when my hubby got to his appointment the doctor said they only want check X-ray and he had to go to a clinic at a cost of $120...again no problem paying or getting it done...I understand that because they gave as 90 days to get the X-rays done they will not even look at the case till Sept sometime...this scares me because of the "sitting" time last year,....If there was something they needed or if they requested anything I would be fine but other then the request for X-ray there has been nothing...and I mean NOTHING....that was my last email to the Immigration office asking how can a case sit for 9 months...if there was a request for any info to say the FBI..CIA..Macys account or even a credit report I would be fine but there was nothing...We are willing to jump through hoops like we did for the TRP but they need to present us with the hoops...TRP wanted a photo copy of the law from 1986, our lawyer laughed but we sent it, via email and snail mail....again not a problem...If this was the private sector the case Manager would be canned...As a Canadian I am out ragged...we can wait but their are families out there being torn apart by cases sitting...its a broken system...and as an FYI...when I came to the States the only problem I had was with the Ontario government and my birth cert, I had to finally fly to Ontario and demand a copy in person, I joke I have a $1500 birth cert between the airfare, hotel and meals that was the cost...it should not be that difficult to deal with any level of the Canadian government but it is...the attitude of better then rains within the employees and its sad...People are truly suffering because of it...

Hey everyone. Just wanted to thank everybody who’s active on this board and ,in particular, in this thread. I received my COPR in the mail a few days ago and figured I should throw my timeline up here. (It helped me keep my cool about this process seeing the timelines of others. Gave me some hope and helped me prepare myself in case of the worst) . Hope everyone whose waiting from last year starts seeing something.

They began processing my application June 18th and were done on the 19th. Received my COPR on the 30th.

I’m in Az USA. I was expecting this process to take a good 8 months so I’m a bit caught off guard here. I’d like to attribute the speed of our processing to my husband’s godlike organizational skills. He went the whole nine yards on that packet. Could have been luck . But it was a very beautiful packet.

Congrats on your quick DM.

I spent countless weeks on mine. It was perfect and beautiful yet they lost our stuff and we waited 9 months. Leah's was beautiful as well and they messed hers up early on and she is still waiting. I think you got lucky. Now go have a beer and celebrate. :)

I really think people who applied last year just have a long queue for some reason.
Thanks, Maria. I really did try to organize it and make it simple for the officer to find everything.

Has this happened to anyone else? They have asked us to submit the stat dec for common law (which I know has been asked of a lot of CL couples). My understanding from that form though is that the notary has to have both of us physically present to sign in front of him or her?

Because that is not going to happen unless CPC wants to pay for one of our round trip flights. he is in London UK and I'm in Toronto. If I'm mistaken, is it best that he mails me a copy with his original signature and then I get it signed by a lawyer/notary whoever here in Canada?
You might want to ask the advice of a Commissioner of Oaths, but none of them are going to commission the form without him present. What I think you should do is fill out the form electronically, and send it to him by email, so you each have a copy that is identical. His will only have his name and signature, while yours will only have yours. Ask your local commissioner if that would work. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Note that you only need a Commissioner of Oaths. In Canada, some of these will not be notaries or lawyers and will likely charge less money. I just found an information site for the UK which you might want to look at: http://www.commissionerofoaths.co.uk/

Also note that fees will vary very widely from one person to another. Be sure to shop around.
