That's good news. Sorry for being so slow to respond. I just got a job putting up dozens of signs in Toronto and I'm juggling that with responsibilities in Gatineau, so I barely have any time to even sleep.

I think it took several days (5 days?) between the time the CoPR was printed and when it was mailed, and that was a few days after the decision was made. After that it still took time to get it in the mail, and we are just across the river from the case processing centre, but I understand that all mail now goes to Montreal to be sorted from both Ottawa and Gatineau, so nothing can take less than 2 days.

In my experience, it is very unusual to get a letter from Ottawa/Gatineau to the northern U.S. in less than 10 days. Sometimes, it does take a bit longer. Only in rare cases is it ever as short as a week, so be patient. (I know how very hard that is.)

My partner finally landed and today he got his SIN. It's a long story that I'd like to tell, but I'm too exhausted at the moment. :(

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can provide some advice or comments based on your experiences. Seven to eight months after submitting my "outland" application, I received an email from CIC stating that I have to submit a copy of my "Mexican PGR - Constancia de Antecedentes Registrales"--basically a fingerprint check by Mexican authorities similar to the FBI check I have also had to do. I live outside Mexico, and I know I could send my documents to the Embassy in Mexico City to do the transaction directly with PGR. However, I think I read somewhere here in the forum that some people have experienced long delays in receiving the results this way. I am considering the possibility of traveling to Mexico and doing it directly at the PGR--I know it should be ready in 10 days if I do it this way. I have an email from CIC telling me to process the "Constancia" with the PGR, but I don't have a letter from the Embassy; would this make it difficult for me to do it directly? Alternatively, I have to go to Mexico late in May anyway, and could presumably collect the results directly from the Embassy at that time. One complication is the fact that I also have a timing issue; I have to send this document with another FBI report, because CIC did not accept the report I had sent via a third-party agency. I anticipated this problem and I already have the FBI letter now, but it is valid for only 90 days. CIC explicitly states that I should not send one document at a time, but rather to combine them.

I would be very grateful for any advice from those of you who have had to do this transaction, and can provide any insight on your experiences.

Many thanks in advance,

Abuelita

Hello
I checked ECAS this morning and I've gone to Decision Made. Relief! I checked it last night and it was sitting in Application Received status still so just went right to DM.

For anyone in the same time frame:

Application Received July 14, 2014
Sponsor Approval August 28, 2014
Additional Doc's requested (Intent to move, NZ police check, Common law declaration): December 19, 2014 (sent Jan 2nd, 2015)
In process: April 17, 2014 (but was never updated on ECAS but in notes now)
Decision Made: April 20, 2014

Currently living in London, UK. Outland, Common Law, Ottawa office.

BruceM, good luck! You've got to be next if not already!

Congrats, canada_nz! Somehow, waiting for that decision that has been made is almost as bad as waiting for DM, but it's a lot shorter. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

I would send in the FBI letter now (despite the request to combine them - these are form letters and the Mexico police certificates are the exception to police certificate rules in that you can't get them yourself). I would tell them you will coordinate with the Embassy of Mexico to get the PGR lettet and police certificate. That way, they get the FBI letter before it expires. If you reply back to that e-mail without changing the subject or historic context, your e-mail will go back to the officer who sent it to you and is processing your case.

Then, I would send a case specific enquiry to the Mexico VO confirming that they can process the PC for you and ask them timing. It takes 10 days once the PGR gets it (maximum) whether from you or the Embassy of Canada in Mexico but it seems that it can take the Embassy much longer to process them. Depending on their response, you could ask them for a request letter instead (for the PGR) and process it in May when you're in Mexico anyway. If you choose to process it yourself during your visit, ask whether you should deliver the original PGR certificate to the Mexico VO or Ottawa VO (I don't know if other VOs actually 'process' them or if only Mexico VO authenticates them and inputs them into the system).

Checked yesterday ECAS was still 'in process' (as it was for 7 weeks now)

Checked today it said Decision Made.

My husband called to check and they said COPR was sent on April 17.

Grats AGIL!

Hey guys, I have a question.

In ECAS, my sponsor and I live at the same address,
My sponsor's address is correct with no errors, however in my ECAS page it shows the street number on a separate line from the street name. (In Canada)

Just wondering if this is something I should submit a correction for through ECAS? My application is processing through Stage 1 at this time and I recieved AOR last week. Thanks!

Hey there! I did notice the same thing with mine. Hubby (sponsor) and I live together and got a bit worried with the address difference. I tried changing "my" address but it still shows the street number on the 2nd line. I guess you/we shouldnt worry about it. =)

Haha that's so weird, just our lines are swapped.

Thanks for your input!
