PR-American Filing US Taxes from Canada

Another question for everyone. I stayed in Canada as a tourist (January 2015) until I received my PR (april 2015). I did not work in the US for the 2015 taxable year, but started working in Canada in Aug 2015. Am I even eligible to fill out the 2555-EZ form? and if not...is the only form I...

PR-American Filing US Taxes from Canada

Hi Everyone! This is the first time I'm filing taxes after getting PR and marrying my Canadian husband. Since getting my PR I've been working part time and also going to University part time. My husband is basically the sole breadwinner right now, and my income is well under $10,000 for the...

Hello Everyone! I'm American and I'm about to officially land via plane with my CoPR in a few days. I will be submitting two B4 forms with my list of goods accompanying and the other goods to follow. I plan on driving across the border with my goods to follow most likely next spring...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

After getting approved for CoPR they will either choose your one year expiration date of your medical exam or the expiration date of your passport as your "land before this date." Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

Hmm...let me see if I am understanding you correctly. Are you wondering if it's better to be living in the US or Canada before you send the outland paperwork? If that is the case then it would help for you to be living in Canada before applying. I'm taking this from the IMM5491 (document...

My question on supporting document for "development of the relationship"

I kept the development of the relationship, wedding, and reception photos in the IMM5490 packet as requested. There is no reason to have two sets of copies, because at the end all your photos and evidence will be wrapped up in the same packet anyway. I'm sure the Immigration officer will...

Common-Law Sponsorship Questions - Inland vs. Outland?

If you haven't already make sure to get your apt. contract with both you and your partner's names on them. It would also help to get your utility bills under your names as well. AND make sure it's all written in English. If not then you'll have to get them translated and notarized. You might...

Family Class vs. Express Entry or both?

I would highly suggest applying outland. I just recently received my COPR in the mail for outland-spousal sponsorship as an american and it took just under 8 months. I have been in Canada through the whole process. Like others have said if he's able to continue working and getting paid...
