Does anyone know how long you have to land after they issue your visa?

PPR today!!! This has been an agonizing process Im so grateful it is almost over. Hang in there everyone. It will happen for all of us.

Is anyone else still waiting from February? I just saw someone was approved from May and Im so frustrated. This process is agonizing!!

Congrats Shelley!!! There are a few hotels near the Consulate. Embassy Suites, Hyatt, and Comfort Suites. The Hyatt is reasonable and a free train ride to the HSBC tower where the Consulate is. Good luck!

I received an email from Buffalo requesting a background check done in Canada through the RCMP. Has anyone else received this and how did you handle it? Today I called RCMP, they said to go to Niagara Regional Police, they said go to this fingerprint service in Niagara Falls. So I guess I will...

Sooo happy for you Ocu_Canadian!! As soon as I get my PPR Im running over to the Consulate. I go to that Tim Hortons alot, so I know right where you're saying to wait by the elevators. It's so great to hear these success stories. Keeps me motivated! :)

ocu_canadian...When you received the request for your passports you have the option of going in person to Buffalo with them? I work around the corner from the Consulate, so this is great news!! Congrats to all PPRs this week!!!! Things are moving in Buffalo!

Thanks CandC2009! They also requested a police clearance for any time Ive lived in Canada, but Ive never lived there. Should I address this issue? I was thinking of faxing a letter to Buffalo with my receipt of $$ stating I do not require a clearance. Thoughts on this?

I received a letter from Buffalo office that I must pay a Right of Permanent Resident Fee of $490. The letter doesn't say where to mail the money order. Buffalo? Mississauga? I work around the corner from the Buffalo office, can I just run it in? Help!

Received a letter from Buffalo, my interview was waived and they want $490 for Right of Permanent Residence. I wasn't aware they were going to request more money. Oh well! Atleast I know things are moving along.

Finally have some kind of update! We received a letter from Buffalo that our interview was waived. They also want more money, $490. Anyway...it's noce to know they are looking at our application. Good luck to everyone! I pray for us all.

You can probably have a co-sponsor who has a good income help you, like a parent or sibling. If you have the money, my advice is to hire an attorney. All the confusion will be over. Your wife should send away for her background check now, it can take up to 3 months to get the results and you...
