A friend of mine who has a CSQ just landed in B.C.. He wants to find out what to do with the paper (CSQ) now? He plans to settle in Montreal later on. Does he need to submit the CSQ to someone somewhere? Thanks!

I think you're right about this. You will probably be given a Visitor Record again at the airport in Feb. with a limited time of stay. I don't think you will be denied entry.

They require 2 pieces of ID to apply for a driver's license here (in B.C. at least) and now they're very strict with it. You cannot just show the entry stamp on your passport to get a driver's license but you need to prove your status in Canada with a legal document, i.e. landing paper, PR card...

May I know what reason did you put for extension and what doc. you have submitted together with the application? Are you from one of the visa-exempt countries or?

Ya I tried it but there were only 2 things requested at the time I applied online. One attachment was for passport pages and the other was for bank statement. I didn't know if, and where, I should attach those other forms that I think that should be there. Well I phoned CIC yesterday and they...

Ok million thanks for the info!! In case he's denied an extension, we might just go to the U.S. and come back. I suppose that should work for another 6 months - I mean if we have submitted his application for landing through outland by then.

Ya thanks KimJuliBC. I understood what you said. I was also sad to hear the possibilities for his extension... Well we planned to submit the sponsorship/immigration application this month but just applied for his Police clearance which will take a couple of months so not ready for that...

Thanks for your replies! We separated in early 2006 and the divorce became final 6 months after the separation. I applied in early 2007 as a skilled worker. Thinking back, my points for independent immigration would be enough for both of us if we were still happily married at that time. :(
