    PNP PR APPLICANTS JANUARY 2015

Landed at the Emerson, Manitoba border on 14/02/2016. Thought I'd update you guys. Here is what I took with me: - The 2 COPRs I got from CPC-Ottawa - The instructional letter I got from CPC-Ottawa - My passport with the immigrant visa stamped in it - Proof of employment (they didnt look at...

    PNP PR APPLICANTS JANUARY 2015

Not me. I used to live in the USA, and chose to move to Canada. No intentions of leaving Canada for the US. :-) Thanks for the links.

Thanks. Yea, I asked because I hadn't read the rules obviously. If I had already known, I wouldn't be asking, would I?

Maybe I'm missing something here - once you complete your landing, aren't you now a permanent resident of Canada? And permanent residents don't need a visa to enter the US, correct? Am I misunderstanding something?

Does the landing as a PR not allow you to then enter the US without a visa?

Follow up question - Can I flagpole, get my landing done, then turn back around and go into the US for the day? My gf suggested us taking a day trip down to Grand Forks, ND. Again, I do not have a US visa at the moment.

They received it on the 26th. Haha theres no real "best" answer to give. I'd just rather drive down to the border with her, rather than drive down to a SK border by myself. It is a boring drive! And I was going to be in Winnipeg this coming weekend anyway. Can anyone that has been through...

    PNP PR APPLICANTS JANUARY 2015

Hi all, I got my PPR and DM in January. I live in Regina, SK on an "implied status" work permit. My permit expired at the end of November, 2015 and I applied for an extension before expiry. My passport got to CPC-Ottawa on Jan 26th. and I just received my passport with COPR and visa today...

Thanks for the response guys. I didn't know there was an option to land without going to the border. That's helpful. I will probably choose to make an appointment with CIC rather than go to the border.

    PNP PR APPLICANTS JANUARY 2015

Question - I was in Canada on a work permit which expired at the end of November. I applied for an extension before it expired, which should give me "implied status". Then before a decision was made on my work permit extension, I got my PPR and DM (applied for PR through the SK PNP). I sent...

Strange. I received my "Ready for Visa" email, but it didn't say anything about sending in new photos. They just wanted me to send them the following: - My passport (I'm single; no dependents) - A copy of the Ready for Visa email - A self-addressed Xpresspost envelope.

How to find employers who hire on TWP ?! I'm so not able to

I think both kinds of companies would consider applying for an LMO for you for different reasons. Bigger companies would most likely be working on bigger, more complicated projects requiring people with a specific skill-set. It might be difficult for them to find people within Canada to fill...

    Visa for a self-employed Australian?

I don't know of a way in which this can be done legally, unless there is some program that specifically deals with self-employed workers. Perhaps some of the more experienced members of this forum can chip in on this.

    TRV with valid work permit

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that rule. Does the same apply for a valid study permit then?

    Visa for a self-employed Australian?

Hi Dan, I've run into a lot of Aussies and Kiwis that have taken the WHP route, and are probably earning considerably higher wages than a barista. I'm not sure of how good/close a relationship you share with your client in Vancouver, but perhaps you could ask him if he knows of a way...
