Maybe I'm missing something here - once you complete your landing, aren't you now a permanent resident of Canada? And permanent residents don't need a visa to enter the US, correct? Am I misunderstanding something?

Does the landing as a PR not allow you to then enter the US without a visa?

Follow up question - Can I flagpole, get my landing done, then turn back around and go into the US for the day? My gf suggested us taking a day trip down to Grand Forks, ND. Again, I do not have a US visa at the moment.

Strange. I received my "Ready for Visa" email, but it didn't say anything about sending in new photos. They just wanted me to send them the following: - My passport (I'm single; no dependents) - A copy of the Ready for Visa email - A self-addressed Xpresspost envelope.

I think both kinds of companies would consider applying for an LMO for you for different reasons. Bigger companies would most likely be working on bigger, more complicated projects requiring people with a specific skill-set. It might be difficult for them to find people within Canada to fill...

I don't know of a way in which this can be done legally, unless there is some program that specifically deals with self-employed workers. Perhaps some of the more experienced members of this forum can chip in on this.
