But Bill.. Last year PNPs were processed fast..they were getting PPRs in 1-2 months after AOR... like this year's FSW.. heard from others as well..

One more thing that keeps me wondering is.. if i look at the immigration quota numbers.. FSW comprises 42% while PNP comprises 30%.. now that's not a big margin.. 10-12K candidates more than PNP.. so why 30% allocation to provinces..

If at all provinces wouldn't matter to them..then such different PNPs would not have existed in first place..nor would they allocate 30% of their immigration quota..

Now Ontario needs more IT people.. right.. so first time in history changed their rule to allow Candidates below 400 to get nomination.. (again this could be in the best interest of Ontario..financially & other factors as well).. isn't their mismatch/miscommunication between what Ontario wants to fulfil for IT industry.. & how speedily CIC processes PNPs.. again.. i may be wrong.. but IT sector is one thing and situation changes with them as well..

Not to argue with your point..but just my point of view..
That's a valid point and it is absolutely true that last year PNP applications were processed really fast.

The reason was that last year average queue was 3,900 at a time and each analyst was supposed to process around 29 applications. This year it jumped to 10,000 applications in a queue and each analyst processing 76 applications.

This is due to mismanagement from both provinces and CIC. Last year each province took a lot more time to process applications and this year they were nominating as fast as only 14 days.

This resulted in more Nominations while CIC doesn't have the available resources to process this number of applications at a time.

Now I guess CIC have asked provinces to delay nominations or send a certain number of these to clear the backlog. This has improved the processing speed for application beyond July.

Situation may improve by the end of this year however we need to wait to see that.

90-120 days as Eligibility Test is not started for even June applicants at the moment. So anywhere from December 16 to January 18.

However, situation will get clear once June and July applicants reach IP2.

Good Luck.

Choosing between PNP and FSW is a choice of an applicant, not the government. PNP is beneficial for those whose score remains below the CRS. For instance, an applicant with 401 scores got Nomination followed by ITA. The wait for such candidates is worth of for what they are getting in return.

Such applicants have applied in Feb got Nomination and ITA in March, and get PPR in September, however, scores have still not gone down to 401.

So, at the end decision has to be taken by the candidate if they can pay extra and wait for the longer time then FSW streams.
I dont agree with you. In my opinion, Govt. has allocated 51k for PNP stream for some reasons. Provinces nominate only those persons who they think would be beneficial for their provinces regarding their job experience in certain in-demand fields, adaptability, graduating students from their province etc. If they think these people would not benefit their provinces they will not nominate them on the first hand.

Moreover, it is also beneficial for the Canadian Govt., because if they allow people in general come to Canada depending on their CRS score, this might not help the Provinces to fill their specific labour market shortage.

Again, if Canadian Govt. did not allocate 51K for PNP, these number would add to the direct FSW stream and in that case, the CRS score will surely be fall under 400 score and these people will get ITA eventually even without added 600 score.

So, if you think that PNP peolple should have to wait more than FSW, it is discriminatory because once an applicant fall under the Express Entry system, they should be treated all the same, be it as FSW or CEC or PNP. Every FSW, CEC, PNP has paid same amount of fees to process their applications and IRCC told the processing time is 6 months. IRCC should process the application according submission date of application irrespective of FSW, CEC or PNP because all these fall under Express Entry Sytem. Also, if they delay the processes of PNP applications, it is harmful for Provinces because they are not able to fill their shortage of people in the market as early as possible and that would affect the Canadian labour market as whole.

At the end of day, the purpose of whole Canadian Express Entry immigration system is to fill their shortage of skilled people in the market. They are not doing any favour to us. Its all give and take policy. Immigrants are going to flourish their economy by their skills, so why discriminate between the streams.

Good one... but no one understand here the delay caused for PNP... and nothing been done to effectively speed up the process... that's the worry part... took an year for getting nominated... as the province holded all nomination and now...here other stream getting prioritized..

I recognise the feeling for PNP applicants and the unnecessary delays however one thing that you need to understand is that I am not an immigration analyst or IRCC representative. I can only write in this forum what I have seen and analysed, and to tell applicants here regarding what is happening within their system. My predictions may sometimes hurt but they have proved right over the time.

I don't have control over IRCC process and neither I can do anything to speed up the process. Only thing I can do is to wish you all a very best of luck.

Thank you for taking the time to read, research, analyse and share information, @BillHyatt.

Most of us here have benefited from your observations and often sought you out for advice and support. Please keep up the good work.

Many thanks and regards as always.

Thanks @BillHyatt for this clarification.
I have a query. I received my gcms generated on 28/8 and it showed r10 ok, criminality passed, meds for both me n my hubby passed however my stepson medicals shows in progress as we have provided custody docs, divorce and declaration to exclude him from file ass he won't be accompanying us.
Yesterday I got a reply from cpc that my file is being reviewed at ottawa

So does that mean the medicals will be cleared at CPC Ottawa? My eligibility and security wasn't started at gcms generation.

Eligibility test is also performed at CIO-Sydney for PNP Outland applicants and for only the last part Security Check (IP2) the files are either sent to CPC or LVO. The reports from Security Agencies like CBSA and CISI are recorded on online file which is accessible to CPC or LVO. They review these results, recommendations from analyst in CIO, decide actions such as an interview or other stuff, and make the final decision.

On selection of LVO or CPC, I asked the process from IRCC and they said in the past we used to send files to applicants nearest Visa Office however that caused some LVO to take more than 6 months to process. So, recently (I forgot the exact year they mentioned) they changed policies and now the applications are distributed according to a number of files they are handling to avoid backlogs. However, if the interview or any further enquiry is needed then files can be transferred to nearest LVO which can make the decision on its own or decide to send back recommendations to LVO allocated in the first instance.

I hope this will clear doubts.

It seems that Medical is passed however not updated due to the reason mentioned above. If your file was moved to Ottawa from CIO-Sydney then probably you have passed eligibility as well and your status will move to IP2 soon. Ottawa can pass your medical and other tests as well.

I do think we all have to be very grateful for the opportunity we have been given. As frustrating as waiting for such a huge potential change can be I think it's important for us to be as patient as possible and be thankful that we have all been given a chance.

We can sit here wondering and discussing all day long how it's not fair etc but it's not going to change anything.

Nothing more annoying coming on here and seeing FSW folks who applied after me and got their PPR already.. Does it upset me?? Of course it does but again, what can we do about it? Nothing. I still think 6-8 months is incredibly fast when you think this is for PR not just a temp visa.. Think about the USA. Some wait 10+ years and still don't get a green card!
