First, the deadline is artificial. Unless that letter says "if we do not hear from you we will close your file" it's not a final response required letter. They put those deadlines in there to give you time to respond. If you don't respond they send you a final letter. So you aren't "dead" if you fail to respond by the deadline. Second, if the only thing you are missing is that "barcode" I wouldn't hold the response letter. The barcode on the letters now is to speed entry (scan instead of type) and minimize errors in processing paperwork. But they can still type in your file number. The most important thing is that you need to make sure your file number is somewhere in your submission package.
