The poster can also drive / bring the car into Canada from the US using a commercial ferry crossing.
Regardless I think the recommendation was not to attempt to bring the car over until after a successful entry. I suppose though that doesn't rule out a friend driving the car over a land border (or ferry crossing) to avoid the expensive of shipping a car over via a commercial company.

According to cbp website, the driver should have a notarized copy of a permission letter addressed to the "Officer in Charge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection" to drive the car across the border.

Did you travel and able to enter to Canada ?
Yes i travelled by air from California to Feb 2026. On landing there is a row of kiosk machines, where you scan your Passport and Pr card and the machine decides if you need to see an immigration officer or not. For me it gave clear so i was able to just grab by suitcase and walk out. I did not have any interview at border . Everything went well luckily.
