Good to hear Mr Ismail. Would you tell us going through the immigration at Calgary in detail please. I hope you brought a lot of warm cloth with you.

@Ismail

hey friend many many congratulations... I hope u celebrated 31st night rockingly :)
Hope to see you soon in Calgary.

@ smakbar

I think the embassy runs a security check to all the applicants before issuing the visa. It might be one of their work procedures. My lawyer told me that since my application was rejected once earlier so it might be that they are double checking my application / documents b4 issuing the visa which is taking so long. I will not be surprised if some of you who had applied later than me would get their visa before me.

@BG

Happy new year to you as well. Its a nice way to keep updates of each other. Lets agree that we all would update our tables every week end to keep each other updated of our status..
What say guys??

Also I sincere request to all guys here that lets keep all our conversation and posts in English only so that we all are a family now and could know and learn from each others experiences. No body should feel left over. thanks a lot for understanding.

thanks rajaryan. could you also tell me whether you need to send in you original passport at some point or not. like i only sent my passport copy, now if i get a visa, would embassy would ask for my original passport?

@ Rajaryan

I did not have the chance to celebrate the new year as i was just arrived after 20 hours travel so i just had a quick walk around to feel the new year.

All for your information, the work permit strps at the aif port was so easy and it took about 15 min.

@ ismail bro.. good to hear that you are already in Canada. Thanks for your information regarding immigration process on the airport. Enjoy your life and have nice future.

Hi Hasho,

Actually for TWP in KSA, medical and police clearance are an option.
It is commonly ask for permanent residency application and seldom if you are going to Canada for work permit.

But once you are there and decided to apply for permanent residency, You will be required to provide one.

So in my own opinion, once you get your visa, next thing you do is get your police clearance before leaving KSA.

Thank you JB for your information.

@ Has

Yes JB is right. Police clearance and medicals are options for TWP. But if you know that you would be applying for PR after reaching Canada, then its better to get all the documents required now only from Saudi Arabia before leaving the country, as I have heard that once you leave Saudi Arabia, its very very difficult to get any documents required from the govt here.

Its informative Raja that before leaving the Kingdom we should get police clearance from here. Did you have any idea that how to get this

Yes for Indian nationals I know, you need to visit the Indian Embassy and tell them that you need PCC letter from Saudi Arabia. There is aseparate form to fill and a fee to be given. after 3-4 days the Indian embassy gives you a request letter stamped by the govt of India addressed to the Police head quarters Saudi Arabia. We then need to translate it to Arabic and get it stamped by the chamber of commerce. After that we need to visit the nearest police head quarters and give the translated letter to them with the copy of your iqama. I think within 1 week they will give you the PCC for Saudi Arabia.

You can check out with ur embassy, but I think it would be the same.

All the letters (normally supplied by your embassy) addressed to the police headquarter here in KSA should have a translation in arabic then depending on where you were in saudi arabia, it must be taken to MOFA for stamping (normally cost 30 to 35 SR). Then you can go to the police station for fingerprinting - (time for release differs from every location).

If you are in Riyadh, MOFA is in AL NASSERIYAH while police station is in DHEIRA.

Thanks JB and Raja for your kind information. One more question that if the VO not ask for Police clearance from here. I should take the police clearance before I leave to Canada.

MR Hasho, I thought of the same question. But i think it really depends, when we are going to apply for the PR. Cause if we are going to apply for PR after couple of years, it might not be good for that long. I believe we should check with our lawyers. I will do it and update to you guys.
