Basically they will not give u passport back if u with drawers your case, reason u will be deported to your country, immigration will tell u to bring return Ticket and require valid passport, if passport is expire then they will renew it on your behalf it takes long time, some country fast, and your country long may be 6 month, once confirm they tell u to come at airport at specific area for deportees, where immigration officer will stamp for deportation on your passport, after he will check your Ticket and escort to u air line counter, and the hand out your passport to air line manager to give it to airplane captain who will hand out to your country of immigration at your country airport , when plane arrive, they will tell u wait in plane once your country immigration office arrive they will ask u why they deport u, after that they might arrest u, file case against u and send u in jail, where ur family has to hire a lawyer to get fill bond for u to re lease, it might take 2 to 4 month in your country jail, Some country may be easier then other.

absolutely right above statement , i know one guy who stop his case, took him 6 months to go through all headache and then in his home country face lot of trouble from immigration to get released.
