Just called the cic call centre and they said my husband's PR should have been issued. He landed in Toronto on November 2nd.
I called yesterday and was told that my husband had to call but that there were issues with some of the PR Cards and pictures.
My husband called and first he was told his was mailed January 31...
Then she came back on the line and verified the information on his landing document and asked if the immigration officer signed it. He had all the document is fully completed.
Then she came back on the line and said that they have to send a communication to Sydney Nova Scotia where the cards are printed and find out what is the hold up as we should have received his card weeks and weeks ago.
For those people outside Canada and waiting for PR card:
Call CIC once or twice if you have crossed the application processing time. I called on the number: +1-613-944-4000. Can be called from outside canada. Total conversion including wait time: less than 20 min.
If you're not arriving for another 4 months I would wait. Find out how long it takes to get a PRTD from where you will be applying and apply a couple of weeks before, if you haven't received your PRC, would be what I would do.
I went on live chat with VFS in London regarding PRTD and was told it takes about 5 working days to process, depending on the High Commission (whatever that means...). I don't know how long you would need to allow for postage. I believe you can drop the documents in, in person, but I don't know if you can collect or how you would know when they're ready.
I'm going to the UK in 3 weeks time. I have my PRC but my daughter doesn't have hers so I may need to stay around London when I land to go and submit docs for her PRTD.
I send new photos last week (still no PR card), but I have to go back to Europe immediately, in Monday.
My friend will come after 3 months (hopefully will come until then), if he could bring me the PR card, and then I can enter Canada ?
