This is really upsetting me.

The COPR seems to be worth bugger all. Are we PR or not? We have the paperwork, we completed the landing, we can get a SIN (and start paying taxes), but here in BC we can't get a photocard driver's licence, cant get healthcare card and can't travel without a problem.

I have flights booked to see family in the UK next month and if I have to change my flights to get a PRTD it'll cost me $1000 for myself and my kids. It's SO unfair :(

To focus on something else a minute... why can't you get a healthcare card? You're eligible for a card 3 months after arrival in B.C. If you don't apply and start paying (or your employer starts paying) they can back date the payments to when you were eligible if you get a jobsworth on your case. I had one whilst I had my working holiday visa.

How did you get them to look into your application when yours is still under the processing times?

I have called them like 5 times in the last 3 months, everytime they tell me to add 6 weeks of the mailing time.. Can you tell me how you approached them on the phone? This would help most of us ..

Hi

I called CIC to chk about my card. The Primary applicant photo has to retaken and sent. I am yet to receive any letter. But the call agent said that she will send an email about the photo retake and she did.

My doubt is - With this email alone , can i proceed to send my photos or shd i need to wait till i get the letter by mail

She just asked me if this was the first time I was calling them. I said yes. And it actually was the first time I called them about pr card. Nothing so special otherwise.

Hi Anujgupta84

Just tell them tht you did call last week and agent advised you tht your card will be posted soon even it's within processing time.
Moreover tell them that you are travelling overseas for a week only and you can't get PR Travel Document so it's so important to know the progress of your Pr card before you book your ticket.

Good luck !

PPL who got request for photo ...

is there any line in ecas too? stating that photo is requested?

Hi Guys

Landing date # 01 Nov.

I called them today and they said due to 73 days processing time, my card should be in queue for printing but still it's under process so agent said he will send an email to relevant department and get them to process my card.

He also explained me more about how this mailing time works. if my card is approved for printing within 73 days form the date of landing then I have to wait for another 6 weeks ( 42 days ) for mail out and he can't anything for 6 weeks, but if card is not approved/processed within 73 days ( from date of landing ) then they send request to relevant department and request more info or progress.

So if you are within 73 days then we can call them to check if card is processed/approved or not.

hope this will help others.

Cheers !!!
