Do you have to justify why you left Canada or they will give the PRTD without asking

As a permanent resident you're not beholden to Canada to explain yourself at every step anymore. The explanation that you have waited an obscene length of time for your PR Card and could not delay your travel any further would be enough.

Hi guys,

I had called CIC yesterday and the agent told me that a letter for photo request has been sent on 23-Jan.
My questing is I am presently outside Canada (i came back 10 days after landing). Can I take photos from here (UK) and send it to them for PR card processing. P.S. photographer address (UK) should be mentioned at the back of photo.
OR
should I apply for a PRTD from UK. (Will it have any impact if i had for FSW from India, but applying for PRTD from UK)?

Sam

Are you individual or with your family ?

Is the request came to all the family or only you

I belive there is no issue to submit photos taken in uk

It was for the whole family.

I hope so, it shouldn't create an issue.

Hi, today I have received my PR Card, but not for my wife and my son.

I called them and they said that an email was sent to me on 26. January but it was not. Woman from CIC resend email to me right now but in the email it is not stated how many photographs I need to send.

Does someone knows how many photos are required? One or more than one per person?

BTW: Landed 20-OCT-2015

Heyy:
Talked with a cic agent he was so nice and said that application is in process.
How much time does it take tl receive the card?
Can I expect it at the end of february?

When did you land?

Just called cic ..so far my app is approved , it's waiting to be produce They have technical problems bla bla and if I don't receive my PRC by 6th of March to call them
Unbelievable !!!

I just called CIC and as it hasn't been 105 days plus 6 weeks since I landed there technically isn't anything he could look at (although previously in December they did look into my application and told me I'd receive it before the new year...).

He did say that applications are all sent digitally so they get sent to Nova Scotia immediately, they are not sent via Canada Post... so its strange that someone on this forum said they were advised the 6 weeks was for the postage time from the date we landed to get to the office?! He told me it was for production and postage after processing delay.

Think they may just be making it up as they go along!!

He said looking at my dates I should have it by the first week in March, landed Oct 7, 2015 - Vancouver (inland)

I sent a case-specific enquiry asking for urgent processing as I am travelling. This is the response I got:

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

New Permanent Resident - No Possibility of Urgent Processing

This message is to inform you that we have received your request asking us to process your Permanent Resident Card (PR card) urgently, but that there is no urgent procedure for new permanent residents.

If the card is not ready before your departure, you will have apply for a Travel document (permanent resident abroad) at a Canadian visa office located outside Canada before returning to the country. The application is available on our website. You can fill out the application online and print it or fill it out by hand. The travel document is normally valid for one entry.

Please note that a PR card or travel document is required for all permanent residents returning to Canada on a commercial vehicle (plane, train, boat or bus).

*sigh*

Do you have a US visitor visa?

Not one that will be valid when I travel. My flights are booked (I believed immigration when they told me 6-8 weeks) and my point of entry will be Vancouver from London.
