I don't think we will need . Can you imagine if we all need to ... Processing time will be 300 days I just email Gigins he got new one , I will info about it.

I was told by the agent that my card was approved and in production, and my photo was sent in September with the smaller size specs. I guess we'll wait and see when I my card finally arrives, which will prove that it's OK with the old size.

But our pics on coprs are glued to coprs and they have canadian embassy stamp . Half of pic is having stamp..
Any issue on that???

Dear Friends,

We landed in Canada on 22nd December 2014, and I will go back to India with my kids in two weeks. My spouse will stay here to collect PR cards.

Now I have learnt that photo specification for new PR card has changed. Will it impact our PR processing? Will CIC ask us to re-take the photos again?

One of my friend got the PR Card on 7th Jan and they landed on Oct 6th

So one of forum member receive new PRC and they didn't ask for new photo( they did ask for new one but before they issued COPR and on COPR was the first pic he mailed not the new one that he mailed when they ask for)
Also on CIC COPR copy where was attached my pic there wasn't stamp on it .

Someone did a bunch of pages back in this thread - they confirmed it had the RFID chip built in by holding it up to a light source.

Did CIC ask that person who recently got the new PR card with RFID chip to retake photos and send ??

It does. The previous card had a different design with the globe and geese. You can google it to see the difference.
