Landed October 5th 2015 . Still not got PR Card .
I have a quick question for the forum

I have a Canadian work visa in my passport valid till 2017 . I have to fly to USA in January .
Can i fly back with this visa

Think your Visa was cancelled during Landing or they would have torn off the Work Permit. Without either you wouldn't be allowed to enter. Not sure of USA. That's the thing for India. I need to apply for a Travel Authorization Letter from New Delhi if I try to enter Canada without my PR Card.

I landed on 24 September. Today I called CIC and the agent told me that they experienced huge delay nowadays and those who landed on 24 September could expect their cards by the end of January 2016..

What the actual f*ck?

This is stupid. It wouldn't even be a problem if they issued CoPR's on proper official secured documents rather than a sheet of legal sized white paper that they bought at Staples and let you use them for travel. Or if they issued a multiple entry visa when they asked for your passport for the initial landing (just restrict the visa to a few months so people aren't screwed while they wait for their cards).

It really doesn't need to be this difficult. >:(

You don't have to do that. Don't worry, it is perfectly legal to travel outside of Canada without a PR card. Remember to apply for a travel document from your local embassy when you decide to come back or have your friend send/bring the PR card to you.

Thanks Haris,
