Guys, do your cards look like this?

If so, it's the old version I think. One thing I remember reading is that they've removed the immigration category from the new cards, so if you have the category listed then it's not the new type of card.

NO that is not the one I have. Mine is different.

AWESOME! Fingers crossed I'm getting the new one too, and that it arrives this week. :D

Hi , does the updation on ecas about the mailing address and status to complete mean that our application has reached cic??

I've come to the conclusion that ECAS changes mean absolutely nothing (well, nothing meaningful that we're able to deduce anyway).

Is there anyone landed on October get their pr card?

just landed on October 18th, but already booked the airplane ticket on December 18 to usa....is it possible that i can receive the pr card before? ( so sad....)

Man, are you sure you landed on the 18th? 18 is the a Sunday. My wife landed on the 19th October and we purchased the flight to Japan leaving on January 5th. Based on other fellow members' timeline, it's not very promising for us. :(

You can land 24/7 at most ports of entry.

Agreed that you guys are unlikely to get your cards before your flights. Hopefully the backlog will be clearing now and times will improve though.

oh, right. My wife is inland. I forgot this is not the inland thread. :D I'm gonna wait for another week to see if there is any decrease in processing time. If not, we will have to change our flights which really is going to hurt my wallet. :(

Man, we all overestimated the efficiency of CIC. When my wife landed, the processing time was 43 days. Based on that, my wife should have received her PR card by the first week of December. We thought a month of buffer time should be more than enough. Apparently we were so WRONG. >:(

Hi guys,

I received PR card for me and my wife, but not for children. I need to mail new photos. For IMM 5455, do I need to fill it with my children's info? One for each child?

Thanks

Hi Quink
The letter sent alongwith PR Card indicaatges that printing of New PR Cards have been commenced from 21st November. Mine PR card is printed on 2nd Dec 2015 Valid upto 2nd Dec 2020. Moreso in the back they have not given category of immigration visa like shown in PR picture given above & have four col i.e 1. Date of Landing 2. PR since 3.eyes 4.Height & COB(Country of birth). Therefore I hope mine card is from the new PR series started by CIC. As such now every PR card issued 21st Nov 2015 opnwards seems to be new style PR Card.

That's great news. Happy that it looks like we'll be getting the new card - almost makes the wait worth it.

I wonder if one of you new recipients might be able to hold their card up to a bright light and see if there's any electronics embedded? You might need to get a flashlight (or use the one on your phone) and hold it against the back of the card. You should be looking for electronics similar to this:
