Called CIC today, they told me that my file is pending and that I shud get the card soon. He told me to call in two weeks if needed.
He did not say nothing about pictures or anything.

Hope for the best.

I just spoke to a nice CIC agent who advised that I will not get my PR card before travelling back to the UK on December 15th as it hasn't been dispatched yet. He didn't advise anything about new photos.

He's sending me details on how to get a travel document via the embassy in London >:(

If you have British passport, you don't need visa to come back to Canada (as you are from visa exempt country). You can land with COPR. You don't need PR card or travel document.

Yeah, I think that's changing in March, but right now I don't see it being a problem boarding a plane. I've left Canada and re-entered many many times when I was on a work permit, and never once did anyone question or ask to see my Canadian status (I have an Australian passport). Just the boarding pass and the photo page of the passport was enough to get me on the plane.

Although that said... you can never be sure. Depends if you wanna take the chance or not, but I think you'd be OK.

Was it one of the new cards with an RFID chip? I'm not sure how to tell... but hold it up to a bright light and see if you can see any wire loops embedded or something.

Apparently the new cards don't have the PR category listed anymore either - that might be a way to identify what type it is...

You've been lucky, I always get asked for my work permit etc and ask my status! Friends from Liverpool had to go through the travel document situation last year.

They say it depends on the border person you get, some jobsworth will hold you up and say you don't have the right paperwork, but others don't mind.

Ah OK, fair enough. I guess also most of my trips have been coming back from the USA which might be a factor.

For some reason people still seem to trust Australian's, LOL... ;)

In that case a travel document sounds like a good idea, and if I'm ever in that situation I'll probably do the same. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for sharing the spreadsheet. I've also updated it. (Landed on 27-Nov-2015.)

If you have your CORP and are Visa Exempt you can Fly IN and OUT of Canada but that changes from March as you will need your PR card if you are Visa Exempt or not.
