Hi myat,

I called them two times, first time they told me I should get my card by 06 Dec, but the second they said it should be 12 Dec. I guess there are many backlogs so what we can do is wait.

I have not seen anyone with a landing date the same or later than yours report that they've received their cards yet. No need to worry, it's just CIC doing their usual snail pace thing.

I have been tempted to call again too, but they'll just say the same thing. Best to just hang tight and hope for the best. If you see people posting here with later landing dates and you still haven't seen your cards, then it would be worth calling, but for now we're all in the same boat.

Hi all,

I have received an email for my wife stated

'UCI: ******** This confirms that your application for your Permanent Resident card has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2015/09/30.'

****NAME*****

When should I contact CIC?

You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:

Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;
Decision to withdraw your application;
Change of contact information: e-mail, mailing address, telephone number;
You found your lost PR card - application for replacement is in process, card must be destroyed, replacement application not yet in process.
Changes to your address should be made through our online service at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp.

How do I check the status of my application?

You may use your 8-digit Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number located on this correspondence to check the status of your application on the CIC website. Please visit www.cic.gc.ca/english and in the "Most requested" section on the right-hand side of the page, select "Check your application status".

How long will it take to process my application?

Processing times vary. You can consult the processing times by visiting the CIC website at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp.

Please be aware that answering e-mails takes time away from processing applications. For this reason, unless your application has exceeded normal processing times, please limit your correspondence to notifying us of changes in your application.

Sincerely,

Permanent Resident Card Centre – Sydney

Does this means her PR card in process now?

How much time will get to deliver ad local address?

Thanks in Advance

So I wasn't going to call again, but I cracked and phoned them this morning... ;)

Got a helpful person who put me on hold and actually checked this time. She said that there had been a system change and the result of that is that processing times are approximately 2-3 weeks longer than the posted time on the website. So everyone should add 14-21 days to whatever the online time frame says.

She also gave me a date range estimate that I should expect my card sometime between the 14th-28th December (which is actually a little longer than the initial guess - she was probably playing it safe). My landing date was 30th September.

Good bit is that she actually said it was in processing this time though. So that's nice to know that there isn't a problem with my particular case at least.

Hang tight folks, and don't worry. 8)

Dear Quink..
thanks for the update. please keep on updating us.its a great relief.I check mail everyday.I hope there wont be photo issue.I do not know why they are taking that much time.

Called cic yesterday after like 75 days of landing on September 16 2015 , they said photos to retaken , I got really pissed off and I did sent them yesterday and she also told that local cic office will contact you for photos retaken . This is insane .

Dear Seniors..
Can you please inform how do they calculate the 52 days in the case of new immigrant.From the date of landing or when the application is sent by the immigration/landing officer to Nova Scotia. Secondly i have checked that Canada Post Standard Delivery time through standard/regular mail is 8-10 days depending upon the destination.For example in Vancouver case, Standard delivery time through regular mail is 10 days.

My guess is that it's some silly back end software upgrade that needed the database to remain unchanged while they did it. So they totally stopped processing cards while the upgrade happened, and when they resumed it's obviously pushed everyone's end date back 2-3 weeks.

Why they can't just acknowledge that on their website and increase the card processing estimate is really crazy. They're wasting tons of time on the phone to people like us who think they're 10 days overdue, when they could simply change the number to 73 and we'd all be informed. Still annoyed though, but at least not worried.

This CIC game is just the gift that keeps on giving eh... :o
