ECAS shows
We received your application for a permanent resident card on September 3, 2015.
We started processing your application on September 11, 2015.

no PR yet
something strange

The answers to your question is:
What are the procedures we have to do on landing?
Ans: You'll be given declaration form in your fligth before landing. In one card you can mention 4 family members name. It's simple and you can search on net to see the sample. Make sure you don't carry any eatables, milk products and other stuff. Search on net and see the sample. If you cannot find, inbox me msg, I'll send the link.
Once you land you'll have to stand in queue for visitors. Remember there will be 2 separate lines, one for PR card holders and Canadian citizens. You are not PR of Canada, so go in visitors line. If in doubt, you can always ask airport staff about it. They will guide you.
Once you clear passport control, you'll directed towards new immigrants section where the officer will ask about your mailing address in canada. This will be the address where you'll get your PR card. If you don't have, then you can send them later on. Ask them about sending/updating later.
Then you will collect your luggage and guess, WELCOME TO CANADA!!!

How much FUnd can be brought in Canadian dollars & how much as Traveller cheques/DD ??b
Ans: One can carry upto 10,000 CAN $'s but, if you are carrying more, you can declare it on the declration form which you'll get in flight. As I was having less, so no one asked me much about it. The only thing they may ask you is source of income. So, if you are carrying big amount, it's better to get some kind of letetr from bank stating you withdraw that amount.. That's what I would have done.

PS: I landed at Toronto airport and the system is same at all airports.. So, good luck..

Finally received the PR cards

Landed 01st Mar2015
CIC sent out the PR cards on May 3rd week - lost by Canada post
PRTD issued in India (single entry valid for 6 months)
Submitted the solemn declaration form in July 2nd week
PRTD issued in UK (multiple entry valid for one year)
Received the PR cards on Sep 22nd

Good luck to everyone on your path!

Finally received the card for myself (principal applicant). Landed on July 16 at Toronto Airport. However, my wife is waiting for hers eagerly even we landed at the same time. Fingers crossed to everyone.

Happy to report that I received my PR card yesterday. I am the principal applicant, my husband is still waiting for his to arrive.
Card says it was printed September 15th

Landed June 27th at Vancouver airport. Submitted a change of address online mid August. ECAS never changed my mailing address, but the phone representative confirmed they have the correct one on file (and they did mail it to my current address). This is my current status on ECAS:
  • We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 28, 2015.
  • We started processing your application on September 11, 2015.
  • Your request for a permanent resident card was approved on September 11, 2015. Your Permanent resident card will be mailed to you or if quality assurance is required, made available for you to pick up at a CIC office.
  • Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on September 17, 2015.

Best wishes to all!

Hey Lilz,

I also got permanent residence on 25th July at Niagara Falls border.
Today I called CIC. The agent told me that 59 days is for your card to go for printing, It may take another 4 weeks for you to receive :(

Four weeks :o This is nuts. CIC will remain slow until the very end of the residency process.... Sigh.

I am going on a 3 months trip outside of the country from October 31st and if I don't receive my card before then, I am screwed! Crossing all fingers that everything will go smoothly.

But thanks for letting me know!

Is it easy to issue PRTD? what abt residency requirements? I landed on 16th May2015 and stayed one month then returned back to abu dhabi, but haven't received my PR until now, is there a chance that PRTD may be rejected?

I have no experience with PRTD, but went out of Canada (and back) 2 times while waiting for PR card. The trick is to fly to an US airport and take a private car over to Canada. No commercial carrier (plane, bus, train) will allow you onboard with only a COPR, but if you can rent a car or have a friend drive you into Canada, the agents at the border will have no problem getting you back in with just passport and COPR.

We landed on July 14 at Pearson airport. No sign of PR cards yet. ECAS does not show any status of the cards - last update is of the landing date. A couple of families we know who landed on the same day have received their cards yesterday. Anxious now ???

To those who landed early June...have you called CIC to see why there is a delay?

Landed on 13 June no pr card yet, called CIC they said we dont know why it is late, and they are sending an email to appropriate people to ask why my cad is late, after few days I called them again they said,we are still waiting for reply of an email they have sent earlier and ...we don't know the reason for delay.

Is there any way to check online status of pr card processing online?

Clod_sky.. this what they exactly word to word told me when I called them today. First call I did one week back.. since then no reply from concern dept.. not sure whats going on..
