Thank you for the confirmation nartcr. I remember from corresponding with you a year ago (Got our PER and MR around the same time :) .)

I'm curious what is the CIC's phone number that you plan to call?

613-944-4000..

How are you handling tax for this year? I have stocks, 401K etc, and it appears, i am going to be paying tax in both US and Canada.

Thank you very much nartcr Unfortunately, I'm not as rich as you i.e. my only income is my job in the US. In my case I've heard that I may not be considered a Canadian resident for tax purposes unless I physically move there. I've also heard that the US and Canada have a tax treaty so if you pay taxes in one country you do not pay the other. Your case seems to be a bit more complicated. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help.

Lol, wish i was rich. I may be hiring some tax experts to do my first year of taxation. You will be prorated for all your earnings you make abroad, from the day you become permenant resident in Canada. You will have to pay taxes most likely in 2 countries, and when we show US tax filings, IRS in Canada reimburses some money. The money you carry with you when you become a permanent resident, is generally tax free. And there are 100's of clauses defining different scenarios. I don't want to change the subject here, since the thread is for PR Card. PM me, if you like to discuss more on this.

Just received the card for myself and my spouse. :D
Landed on June 5, 2015.
Finally the PR journey is over.

Wish you guys luck and see you back in 4 years.

Congrats on your cards kagaya!

We landed June 27th and after more than 2 months of radio silence, ECAS showed update today, it stays they started processing the PR cards on September 11. The address is still not updated, though, and the lady on the phone says she cannot open my file until Friday (83 days from landing date).

Praying CIC has the correct info and the cards will be dispatched soon.
