Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hi All,

I have been following this thread offline and I have to say the info posted gives a fair idea on when appx we would receive the card.
I am glad to say that I and my spouse have received our PR cards today i.e., Aug 20th. We have done flag pole at Peace Arch on May 9th. However, we did not receive the card for my kid who is 2 1/2yrs. Should he get one?

My wife landed on June 1st. She just contacted CIC and they told her that her card went into production 3 days ago (on 17th). I've been following the posts here and the date seems to be off considering that people that the cards for people landed on mid-May went into production recently. I wanted to see how long does this production take?

Sigh...just wish we meet in better circumstances...I've no idea why on earth it takes these guys *this* long to print a goddamn card! Couldn't this have been done at point of landing? I think they secretly enjoy pushing us to our limits...just when you think the journey is over, you realize you still have a long way to go! I have a vacation planned in september myself...and I thought that was far away enough...but now it looks like I have taken on a huge risk.

This is not a renewal of expired card or renewal of PR. We are new PRs for godsake! Just had medical, security, criminality, validity done. They should be able to print the card immediately or a week if they run out of plastic. I have not been home past 4 years. Education, job hunt, PR. Finally I wanna be home for festival n they cannot get a card. After paying 1000s of dollars they want us to pay more for temp visa; a good way to earn more money so that they can screw us more. How do they expect someone to be stuck in a country for 3 months; there could be work, travel, family emergency. How do they expect someone to travel for 2 weeks n instead of spending time with family, I spend time n money applying for a visa that may take more than 2 weeks. This whole PR thing is a joke.

Just called cic after seeing the latest processing time. Its been 88 days since my landing, call center agent did not even look at my file, he said card should arrive by next Wednesday . He was saying he could not open file until 80 + 10 days (canada post time) passes. These guys are telling stories just to get rid of the call. Cic is always Cic.

Just sharing some latest information from CIC:

Arrived on May 19th,2015 at Montreal airport
Called CIC today and was informed that card has been mailed yesterday.

FYI to all who has landed around the same time as I have.

Did they look into your file and said the above information or they said by knowing your landing date.
I called just now and they refused to say any information and simply said that u must get your card by Aug31st. If you don't get it just give us a call back. Getting tense as i planned for a vacation in September 2nd week

Nothing yet. Said to wait until Aug 31st and said me to give a cal back if i don't receive by this data. Didn't even said went to production,emailed etc..

Hey ganapathi,
It's been over 93 days for me so they checked my file. I read that you are on your 88th day, this is why they do not go into yours.
I advise you to call them on Monday, and they will be able to tell you if it's mailed or not.
And I think that when they say 'you will get it by August 31st', I'm pretty sure you will. I also have planned a vacation for first week of September, I just hope I'll get it by then.

I called CIC help line and I was informed that child PR cards sometimes go thru different cycle of production and because of that the pr card will be sent later. This must have happened just in our case. I was told that I would receive my child's PR card soon.

I'm a PNP instead of CEC, but just wanted to let you guys know that my ECAS was just updated today. It says my PR card went into processing on August 17. I landed on May 27 at Peace Arch BC.

Same here, they did check something though but revealed any details. Asked me to call again after September 10th if I dont receive them. Please keep the forum updated. Thank you very much
