I landed on May 8th, 2015. I called CIC and they said mine is sent to production on July 31st...but they are not sure why it stays in production for 2 weeks. Is there anyone having similar issue?

You will get it by next week

Good Luck :)

"Your Permanent resident card will be mailed to you or if quality assurance is required, made available for you to pick up at a CIC office."

Does anyone know how long it is from here? And how do I know if quality assurance is required or not?

I received my PR card today. Now waiting for my wife PR card.
Hopefully I will receive soon. Cheers

Yes you can enter by road on foot or on a private vehicle (including rentals or taxis), not on a commercial vehicle like bus. Many people drove in including me using passport and COPR.

Hi everyone,

I landed as a PR on July 4 and still waiting for my PR card. Has anyone scheduled a US visa (B1/B2) interview with their COPR? I will not be travelling before my PR card arrives but want to get my visa process going. Do you think I should wait for my PR card to arrive to go to the US visa interview? Does anyone have any experience?
Thanks.

PR Card is required to apply for visa. COPR is just a landing document (Canada border officials doesn't accept COPR when you are travelling by a commercial vehicle)

I went with COPR for my appointment at the US consulate. There was absolutely no problem without PR card. The COPR was sufficient enough. I got 10 year US visa after my appointment.

Can you share the process for applying for US visa.

Thanks. When did you apply for your US visa? Also, which consulate you had your interview at? Did they ask you anything about your PR card?

Hi Siroccoon,
Thanks for your reply.Actually i have also driven couple of times to Canada from US with my Indian passport and COPR without any problems. This time i am thinking of walking down from Rainbow bridge and that is why wanted a confirmation from someone who has done it before.I know logically it makes sense that foot or car (both) should be allowed but it will be great if someone who has gone by foot on rainbow bridge can confirm.

Friends,

I landed on April 25th and still did not get my PR card.

Earlier there was an address glitch. When they finally had my Canadian address in records, they came up with a new ordeal that we need my new set of photos as current one's are not fit for processing the card. I sent new photos last friday through Canada xpresspost and i see it's delivered today.

Any clues how long would they take to finally process and send out my card?
