The processing time does not account for mail delivery, right?

Yes it doesn't ??? .. Hey, Diplomatru.. does your e-CAS show the address you provided during landing or an earlier address at the time of applying?

So, it's safe to assume that 100 days is the average time to get the card. How ridiculous is that lol?
I have the same address on file since I didn't move.

Hi Everyone,

I need your advice here. I recently landed and notice that the Border officer wrote the wrong spelling of my City and Postal Code. It is the same address I used from Day 1 but the writing is wrong on the COPR paper. I wonder if they send the paper file and use the written address on the COPR, any idea? or the online address on file? I don't want it to get lost as I'm going out of the country in December.

Thanks a bunch guys and have a nice weekend!

What's important is the address you see on e-CAS

I agree , they should send it to the address on file , they write on copr so u can confirm it

I am a FSW2104 applicant and did my landing yesterday on July 3 2015 along with my wife and son.

I am confused whether or not I need to apply for PR card separately or it just arrives on its own to the Canadian address that immigration officer noted on my file (COPR)

There are links on CIC that say you don't need to apply for PR card and your PR card will just reach to you after 'x' no of days post landing. For example: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=054&t=10

Then there is also another link that has PR card form, supplementary form, photos etc that needs to be done as part of PR Card application form that should be mailed to CIC. It also says clearly you need to submit this for your INITIAL PR CARD.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp

So Do I really need to do an application for my PR Card, or CIC does that as part of my landing procedure? Please guide me anybody who knows this for sure. I plan to return back in 20 days and make a full move later next year. If I have to apply for PR card then I must do so before I leave canada

you dont need to do application for pr card because it is a part of your landing that you will be issued PR card and send it to you to your add.

Just so you know the prossesing time for PR card rigth now is close to 100 days.

Landed on May 17th 2015. still no PR yet. Are they still sending April PR Cards?

Come back here, in August. CIC sucks

I landed on 12th April 2015 ... and today is my 83rd day.

Currently, Permanent Resident Card processing time is showing "83 days". When I landed, it was 41 days.

So, my advice to everyone else ... Be Patient! (because that's the only thing one can do)

I landed one month ago and I already prepared myself psychologically, that I'll be getting the card around end of September, or probably beginning of October. So, I'm relaxed ;D

I can't justify in any kind of way, the big delay of issuing a plastic card for a new immigrant.
In case of an already existing Immigrant, I can justify the delay. (they maybe need time for the background check stuff)
But for a new immigrant, why the delay? The VO on the POE has verified the person and let him enter the country. There is no other things to wonder or check for, just issue the plastic card and ship it.

Maybe the only upside, out of this situation is that the Residency Days counts from the day of landing and not from the day they issue you the PR card ... lol

Hi,

Is there anyone from INDIA who applied for PR card, went back to India and came back with a travel document?

One more question, does travel document allow you to land Montreal. I feel that since it is a general Canada travel document, I should be allowed to land anywhere.

The way the processing days are increasing, I don't think I will get card before flying to Canada in December this year. :(

I applied on 2nd May this year, in Calgary.

Cheers,
KD

Hi Friend,
Can you please explain, are you currently in India or Canada. When did you landed, I am in Canada and will be landing after 2-3 weeks, but the question is that Can I travel to India and come back. What is this travel document. Can you please explain in details as you had gone through it.

Thanks,

I am in India. I landed on 2-May-2015 and went back on 12th. I was hoping to get PR card through a cousin before my permanent landing in December. But the processing time has fallen into a loop. Since India is not a visa exempt country, if you want to come back to Canada without PR card, you need Travel Document as your successful landing made you a PR. I never applied for the document, so was asking the group about their experience.'
