I am landing on Jul 15, can someone inform me briefly about the landing process and how to apply for PR card. your reply is highly appreciated.

R u coming from outside Canada or flag polling? I landed in Toronto airport. landing formalities at airport were simple. immigration officer asks for COPR, passport and an address in Canada. there is no separate application for PR card after immigration formalities, officer tells you when you can expect your PR card. once immigration completes, you get a welcome kit and you are directed to apply for SIN and health card.

hope it helpls

Hi, I landed on May 18th at toronto airport. I gave my new address in canada. for some reason ECAS is showing new address as my home address and my old address as contact/communication address. I tried to update online, it didn't reflect my changes. I called up CIC call center and they give me a online link, where I gave my new address. Has anyone done that? How many days it takes to reflect address change?

Thanks

Yes, same with me. I called them 2 weeks after updating the address and they confirmed the correct address on their side. To this day ECAS still shows my old mailing address, so I think you should be ok.

You can call them and confirm.

That's true.

Landing process is easy. Provide CoPR, Customs Declaration card and Passports to Immigration officer. You also have to give your address. Your first PR card will arrive at the address you will give. Your first PR card is free (part of your application) and you do not need to fill any forms for it. You may also get appointment date at airport to register for health card.

Later on, you will be asked to register for SIN at Service Canada.

So, everything will be smooth.

+1 for the apt response. I am coming from KSA.

If they add 7 days to the processing time every 7 days, does that mean we will never get our PR cards?

Why does it take so long to process???

I know where to find job to be happy in Canada. It's CIC office, there you are paid for doing nothing.

Hi Guys,

I landed on April 27th in Toronto and still waiting for my PR card. The day I had landed the wait time was 46 days...it's 81 today :-X :-X :-X. I have a doubt and would appreciate if someone can clarify:

I had faxed my current address to CIC on May 1st but the address in e-CAS doesn't reflect anything in "Current Home Address". My "Current mailing address" is still my PR application representative's address. I also used the Change Address notification option on June 2nd to update my current address online. However, my address is still not updated in e-CAS :o :o :o :o

I really don't know if the "clock" starts from May 1st or June 2nd for me...??? And does the f***ing address ever get updated? I had called CIC agent but got the typical response to call back after the processing time has passed.
