Landed on Feb 16, received PR card today.

Hi Vague,
Did CIC send PR card through regular canada post or courier service? I am just wondering. Also, Do they send family (spouse and kids) PR cards in the same packet or separate packets?

I am not Vague, but I can tell you that:

*they always use snail mail

*some people said they received their PR cards (principal applicant) separate from their family, but this is not always the case.

Regular mail by canada post. All PR cards send by separate mails. I lost my children PR cards. Last month I have sent declaration form and hope to receive PR cards by next month.

I came to Canada as student permit , finished study working over a year, now my question is

-While I applied student visa, in family story my agent didn't add my brother name in application , which I didn't notice at that time.
-Right now after received ITA, I am filling up my PR application , in family story I want to add my brother name.
-Would that be any problem or any negative effect in my PR application, since the extra information.
-Will CIC ask any question why his name wasn't in my application, while I applied student visa.
-Does application information has to be same , while I applied student permit and current PR application !!!
Any response will be highly appreciated >

It should be fine mate,I only noticed that I somehow missed the military history part when I was asked for an updated schedule A 1 week later I got DM and am now PR.
Just add an additional letter explaining.

Landed on 15 march. Now in Ecas :

Your request for a permanent resident card was approved on April 10, 2015. Your Permanent resident card will be mailed to you or if quality assurance is required, made available for you to pick up at a CIC office.

Status : In procces


No mail (((( Maybe i need to call them ?

Hello Guys,

I got pp request recently and sent my pp for immigration visa. I am now waiting for getting it back. I need to go to my country for an urgent reason on July 15, 2015 and need to stay there for at least one month. So I will be coming back to Canada on August 15, 2015. As it takes long timeto get PR card after landing, I am planning to land at the time of coming back from my country at august.

Can you guys please share, how much time (Expiry date) it is allowed on the immigrant visa? I am afraid that I might get a immigrant visa with a short expiry date and might have to land before I leave Canada in July.


My timeline:

CIC application: June 2, 2014
Medical Done: August 24, 2014
PP request: April 11, 2015
PP sent: April 13, 2015

Today I called cic to check my PR card status and he told me PR card is in process and I also asked mailing address and told me my mailing address which was my lawyer and its very strange ECAS shows different mailing address which is my correct mailing address and I told agent about it and he corrected it afterwards.

He also told me processing time of PR card is 43 days now. I landed on 28 th March 2015

I just wanted to share my experience .

Hi! Visa and CoPR expiry dates are tied to your medicals, which are valid for a year. So the expiry date, according to the dates you provided, will be August 24, 2015.

Yeah, a lot of people said that happened to them, address in ecas was different from what CIC had in their system. The only way is to keep calling them and checking, even after they "update" it...

Oh, except if your passport expires before that. So your passport has to be valid, too, or they give you less than a year.
