yes, your landing guarantee the PR card.
The "PR card approved" probably means all the data in order and ready for issuing the card.

Sometimes a new section appears for PR card for SOME applicants. Apparently, that is for only a small percentage of applicants. Sometimes the section appears and disappears.

Sorry for an answer like this, but to be honest, I wouldn't really expect it to appear...

Thanks for the reply. I am used to CIC not updating my ecas My medicals were updated after 11months. As long as they send me my PR card, I should be fine I guess.

i waited for about 4 weeks after landing, then called them just to confirm they are working on it...no other advice i can give you

I was surprised that they must ask me to submit original passport for landing sticker. But my lawyer said that CIC do not put a record of Landing in the passport anymore. CIC send us PR card. If you are from a visa exempt country, they request only passport copies. If you are not visa exempt, then I don't know what is happening.

There is not record of landing, that is no longer in use. They will send you CoPR - Confirmation of permanent residence, which you will bring with you when landing, and the officer at the border will stamp it. That is your proof of landing. Then they will send you PR card to your Canadian address automatically.
