Hey Guys,

I landed on Saturday.

I just want to confirm that after landing we don't need to do anything for the PR card application. It will be automatically processed by CIC - correct?

Just wait ....thats it

Hello all,
I landed on Saturday and the status changed to "complete" yesterday. I have 2 addresses showing in ecas now., the previous address was showing as mailing address and the address I gave for receiving PR cards is appearing as home address...

Any thoughts on this???

Also, the cards are processed in 19 days, really????

Two addresses are fine. You provided a new address to receive your PR cards, hence it shows up. Same for me.

Processing time shown on CIC website only applies after they start processing your application, only for the PR card.

I'm in a similar situation. I asked the officer at the border when I did my landing what I should do and she said without the PR card I should go to a consulate when abroad and they will issue a travel document. Once you get to Canada you won't have any issues with immigration, the biggest problem is that the airline may not let you on the flight without a card or other issued travel doc.
If I have a US visa and can I do like India to US by flight and then from US to Canada by road without PR card? Is that possible?

Yes you can definitely do that

Its written on CIC website that PR card is not needed if you come by car or bus.

But cant fly from US to Canada...you have to take road

I think you will get it after me :)...if there is queue for PR cards under review..

Here is operation manual of PR card
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf27-eng.pdf

why its under review

quote:
5.5. Correction procedures – Permanent resident documentation

One of the primary goals of the permanent resident card initiative is to enhance the quality and reliability of status identification documents issued by CIC. In order to achieve this goal, it is imperative that client information recorded on the PR card be accurate.

A data quality verification process is in place at the CPC-PRC to ensure that the information recorded on the Confirmation of Permanent Resident form [IMM 5292B] matches the FOSS record before a PR card is issued. In cases where a discrepancy is noted, steps must be taken to identify the correct information and make the appropriate amendment. It is important that amendments be processed in a systematic manner.
