It is CRA that grants you the new SIN, and it is linked to your file at the time you apply, so no, there's no need to inform them.

Guys, stupid question, after we land, we have to submit an appliation for our PR card, right? It does not come automatically? I was 100% sure we have to apply, but one of my friends who has just landed said that the officer said to him it is coming automatically. I am confused now. I am waiting for my passport with my visa in it to land but I would like to find out if there is a separate application or no.

After you land/ immigrate, there is no need to apply for a PR card (Initial PR card). They would automatically process your PR card if you provided a Canadian Address
But for Renewal or Lost, you will have to apply.

You can't apply for first PR card. It's just part of the PR application process and begins when you land.

I am also waiting for someone to reply on Photos.
My Photos were rejected by CIC for PR Card. I have no idea the reason for rejection.

He got his CoPR and landed with no problems. Apparently the photos were OK for PR application, but not OK for PR card application

So did they request the new pics? Or does he have to pay money for PR Card reapplication? What is one to do in a case like his? I am afraid about my pics too, they were done at walmart... Stupid me...
