To me they give expire date in the PR card as 2019 - June -19.
I landed on April 06.

So they issued the card to you on Jun 20, 2014? It really goes 5 years from the issue date, not the landing date huh.

Well, I'm just saying I'm OK with trading a few months of not having the card now, to get a few more months of PR card validity in the end of the 5 years.

How's that going to help me? I think to get citizenship you need 4 years of residence as PR + 1 year application processing time, so that's 5 years in total. Maybe a few extra months on PR card will save me from applying for another card... or something like that. :)

Fair enough... and I guess the delayed renewal is somewhat more convenient, provided you have no particular need for the card now.

I like the way you think :), I'm just pissed off with us having to wait on CIC even after becoming a resident and yes I need to travel by July 4th week. Havent booked anything yet.

If you're travelling out of the country and need the card to come back, then it's a different story. I took a vacation abroad and come back to land, but I thought of landing by flagpoling then take a vacation after getting the card. Good thing I didn't do that -- I'd still be waiting for my card and can't even book plane ticket right now.

Good to know. Coz CIC website just mentions about using COPR with private vehicle.
I have my tickets booked next month To and From Toronto.
I will also have to do the same you did if I don't receive my PR Card.
Its such a relief to know about this :) Thanks!
Yeah very good to know. The officer that processed my landing told me that they accept COPR everywhere, it's the airlines that don't accept it. Which is stupid (He was saying), because they allow people without Visas and then they claim refugee status when they arrive, and they could fine the airlines for that. However the airlines won't allow COPR on an airplane.

Hope I get it safely...!

Good to know Yamahar, following in your footsteps, I called them too and they told me that my card was sent out yesterday (June 24th).

Good luck to all of us

It looks like mine has arrived today, I can see something from CIC in my mailbox but my girlfriend is the one with the key.

I landed on April 6th and I live all the way opposite the country in Victoria, BC.

hi Cruiser55,

You landed on 17th April and the CIC support said they released the card yesterday ? :) vow that is good news, as I landed on 18th April and had called them back earlier this week, they said I would receive it by mid july. Hopefully they have processed the batch and we all get it soon.

You put up in TO?

I got my PR card today, but the interesting thing is that I didnt get my spouse card, we both landed at the same time. is it something to worry about?

We have received our PR cards yesterday, i.e. 24 June. We landed on 29th March, so processing time in our case is 87 days.
Best of luck who all are waiting for their PR card.

Cruiser55 you'r e lucky buddy :D

It is not about luck Yamahar, after I did my medicals, there were some complications and I waited for 2 1/2 months to get all that sorted out, it was a very difficult period in my life! And only after that I landed on April the 17th. So, I guess that they are only making up for the lost time, as my application was on hold for nearly 2 months!

Hello Cruiser - Mine is also same case, My kids card has not arrived yet but myself and my wife got the PR cards.
We landed on April 06. I called call center to check the reason for the delay and she said my kids card is under process and can be arrived by July 1.
Hope this helps.
