I got a card for one of my kids today!! But not mine or my wife's!!!

It was issued 4-6-2014

The good thing is ... they started working again.....

I just hate how slow they are.....

I know that on the website it says that it is around 80 days before you get your PR card in hand after landing. But I see that a lot of people are getting their cards before this time.

I doubt that most of the landed immigrants have received new pr cards before 80 days especially who landed in 2014. I landed on 15th March 2014 still I haven't received any PR card and there no ecas update as well.

I landed on April 19th (Lansdowne border crossing), haven't received my PR card yet.

Quick question: The requirements to keep the PR status is to be in Canada for 2 years in a 5 years period, correct? Does the landing date act as the starting date of the 5 years period?

Landing date until the first 5 years are up, then it becomes the most recent 5 year period at any given date.

Expiry date on your PR card will be 5 years from the date of issue of PR card and not the landing date.
For example : You receive your PR card on July 10, 2014. It expires on July 10, 2019 but not on April 19, 2019.
