Any idea how long does it take to get the card once CiC confirms that the card is in printing

About a week after see the message about PR Card is in process or complete.
I'm still waiting and current waiting time is 56 days.

It has been 63 days since I landed. I'm also waiting for my PR Card. I called CIC call center today and they said it has been sent for printing. I'll get it in next 2 to 3 weeks.

But here is the problem: I may be required to fly out of Canada in case of emergency due to sickness of a family member. So, in this case if I leave Canada before my Card arrives, shall I be able to re-enter in Canada using "Application for a Travel Document (Permanent Resident Abroad)" Form?

I have checked the application requirements and As far as I understand the rules, I'll not be able to re-enter if I have spent less than 730 days (Residency obligation) in Canada.

Someone else had any similar experiences?

Hello seniors I completed my landing on the 18th Feb 2014 under the CEC program
As of the 15th of April 2014 application status for pr card changed to process.

Q1) How long till I receive the pr card?

Q2) could your confirm only when the status changes from process to decision made will the card be sent? Or card can still be sent when it an still under process?

hello all,

once you complete your landing, do you need to fill a separate application for PR card or all you have to do is wait?

No, there's nothing you have to do. The PR card will automatically mailed to you.

If you have not had a chance to live in Canada for 730 days (i.e. because you landed only 63 days ago), the IO may ask that you prove your ability and intent to meet the RO, but he/she cannot refuse you entry.

Awesome mate...thanks for your help. You're absolutely right. now, I read it on the rules page too.

Hi vickybarcelona / Senior Members

I am also waiting for my PR card after landing(42 days) and might have to travel to US in May end. Can i apply for Travel document from within Canada? How many days will it take to get the Document?

Please help me?

I got my passport request today which is a great news. I just need some help in the landing process.

I have a US Visa and my wife's US visa expired on April 17. How can I do landing along with my wife?
