Hi We landed in jan 31 ;2014 i am still waiting for my daughter PR card i called yesterday CIC to check and tgey told me tgat there is nothing wrong in my daughter file however they refer it for verification and there is no time frame given ...so i am wondering any idea about this subject?

^^ about 4/5 % are picked randomly and sent for the VP...It takes 90-120 days if that happens...

o god hope we don't fall in that!!

Hi Yamahar1

What exactly happens in VP.
Will they again verify all the PR process or only the PR card process....

^^ I don't know much..but it could be the either of the two...but dont worry..people have got their cards ultimately.:)..keep patience...

Got my PR Card - On April 12. 56 days to process.

Plz Add my Case
Landing in Jan 14,2014, Peace Arch, BC
still waiting for my PR card, called and they said they transfer my file to another department, it will need another 4 month. not sure what happened. but I think my case is sent to the VP >:(

I just received mail from CIC saying that I need to resubmit my photographs because apparently the old ones don't adhere to the specifications.

Has anyone ever tried urgent processing of pr card based on travel outside Canada if we provide the travel ticket

Expedited processing is not an option for new PR cards, only for renewals. You'll either have to wait
and complete the landing after your travel or apply for a travel document from outside Canada.

Thanks Toby
But One of my friends completed landing in vancouver recently and waiting for pr card. He is flying to India this weekend without PR Card
He asked the CBSA officer when he was there for landing if he can use the COPR Visa which is still valid till next year to come back to canada and officer said yes he can do so
I don't believe this but just putting a point to see if anybody has got more idea about this

Ok, maybe you trust information from the CIC website:

See under "If you plan to return in a commercial vehicle, like a plane or bus"

Thats what I was checking and my only concern is I am planning to go for only 2 weeks and I am not sure if I can get the travel document within 2 weeks

Not sure about the processing times of travel documents, since it's being processed at visa offices in the country you
stay in and not Canada.
But what I know is that you won't be able to reenter Canada using the CoPR when come to Canada by a commercial carrier ( plance, ferry, bus ).
As I said in my post on the website, the CBSA is not CIC and you need a PR card unless you cross at a land border in a private vehicle.

Makes sense
Thanks for the information Toby and good luck for your application. I hope you get your PPR soon

Any idea how long does it take to get the card once CiC confirms that the card is in printing
