after waiting for almost 2 months for our pr cards, I called cic today and was told that the cards was sent back to them. we moved and I forwarded my address without knowing that immigration documents cannot be forwarded by Canada post. Another waiting game begins for us. we have to wait again for 2 weeks to finally receive the cards. :)

does anyone know if i can apply for a US visa using my COPR since my PR card have not arrived as yet

I called CIC couple of days back. The lady was not ready to check my specific application, instead kept telling me to check the processing time in the website. She told me that current processing time is 61 days to start processing the application + ~10 extra days to print and mail the card. In total 71 days ! I also asked why cant I see the status in ECAS. She said new PR card applications are usually not updated in ECAS. Usual CIC stuff!

hey eds,

I called them a few days back and got a very nice lady on the phone. she went into the system and actually calculated the time for me - based on the Feb 5, 2014 processing time update (available when i called).

i landed 2 days after you, and she told me to expect the card around March 6, 2014. when i ran some numbers, it came out to about 77 total days (including stat holidays). so, not including those, about 74 calendar days. presumably then, you should be getting yours around March 4th. Hope that helps give you an idea. I got nothin on ecas either.

Thanks CEC2013. I, however, feel that, if the photos are alright, we'll get the card before last week of Feb. One guy who landed on 13th of Dec got his card on 13th of Feb making the processing time ~62 days.

@ Those who got the card,
Where was the card mailed from?

Hello Eds,

What is the best time that we should call them to enquire about if everything is alight.? I tried couple of times before and every time they said ...they cant give you any information.

I landed on 18th Dec?

I usually call at 8 AM or after 5:30 PM. I hope that we both get our cards next week !

Landed at Peace Arch, BC last week.

Pretty bummed because my COPR probably has clerical errors from the immigration officer (as pointed out to me by Services Canada when I went to get new SIN), so no idea whether this will impact my PR Card.

Will be emailing/calling CIC later to find out what to do.

Today, I have received PR card and also, received family member.

There is no problem such as any missing name and date of birth !!

Gooooooood!!!

I landed on 13/DEC/2013... :D :D :D

Can you tell us what they did wrong on the form? just a spelling error or something else? I was thinking of doing my landing at peace arch but don't want the same thing to happen to me. Please update us if when cic tells you what to do! Thanks for sharing your experience!

62 days are up for me. Still no sign of PR card in ecas / mailbox.

Folks who landed on 18th Dec - any update for you?

I got my card on Friday, 14th

Quick update for you guys:

eCAS now shows 2 sections ... one for PR and other for PR card. When I opened the PR card link, it says that they "started processing application on FEB 17" and status is currently "in process". i landed on DEC 21.

expecting card within the next 2 weeks.

Called cic just now - my card will be sent today :)

my brother landed dec. 15, and we're told by CIC that his card was mailed out this week
hope to get it soon
