The processing time for PR card has been increased from 70 to 72 calendar days :(

I am waiting for my card eagerly, I need to go to my home country in End of Nov.

Is there any way we can expedite the process if I send my confirmed flight ticket?

Not sure if this helps http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing-already-submitted.asp

Thanks Mahek. But from the link it looks like the urgent processing is done for people who sent their application package for a new PR card.
But since I landed here and didn't submit any PR application package, will this be applicable to me too?

I think you're right. I am not sure how it works for people who landed here. Call CIC?

Just saw that the PR card timeline has been updated to 75 days from 72 days.

=============================

I think they are working on other important activities related to PR..i.e medical, PPR etc than PR Card.

I sent an email to process my PR card urgently as I need to go to my Home country. Here is the reply I got from CIC.

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

New Permanent Resident – No Possibility of Urgent Processing

This message is to inform you that we have received your request asking us to process your Permanent Resident Card (PR card) urgently, but that there is no urgent procedure for new permanent residents. Please contact our Call Centre at 1 888 242-2100 (from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., local time) to obtain the current status of your PR card.

If the card is not ready before your departure, you will have apply for a Travel document (permanent resident abroad) at a Canadian visa office located outside Canada before returning to the country. The application is available on our Web site. You can fill out the application on-line and print it or fill it out by hand. The travel document is only valid for one entry.

Please note that a PR card or travel document is required for all permanent residents returning to Canada on a commercial vehicle (plane, train, boat or bus).

So what that means is that urgent processing of PR cards is only an option for PR card renewals
and not for new PRs?

That's odd... and http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing.asp doesn't say anything about that.

Processing Times has been reduced to 73 calendar days from 75 :)

Thanks for sharing the information.
