Hi,

I wonder if someone can help me with their expert opinion. So, my wife has a visitor visa to canada valid till August. She landed on May 15th and her 54 days got over last week. Till now, no update from IRCC and status shows under processing. We leave for a trip to US next week and will be back beginning of Aug (when visitor visa would still be valid).

Questions:
1) If PR Card does not get delivered before we leave for US, can someone here courier it to us in US? Has it been done before and is it safe to do so?
2) Can she come back showing just her Visitor VISA to airport authorities in US, on the way back, in case option 1 fails?

You cannot legally hold 2 statuses in Canada. The visitor visa became invalid when she became a PR.

For option 1, you can legally post the PR card through a courier from Canada - I don't know about legally receiving it in the US - You will need to check with a local carrier there.

For option 3 (new) - you can legally travel into Canada by road on a personal vehicle (rented or owned) without a pr card - you only need the COPR.

Photos resubmitted to CIC: Apr. 18, 2016
Photos reached to CIC: Apr. 21, 2016
PR cards mailed by CIC: July 4, 2016
PR Cards received: July 15, 2016

Landed: 7 May, Alberta. No photo resubmission. Not sure when they were mailed, we never called.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt response. We are travelling to mid-west US and more on the east coast. I had thought of a similar worst-case scenario action, that I will buy a separate flight for her from Chicago to Bellingham or Seattle and pick her up from Vancouver in my car or have her take a bus to Vancouver from there (with her COPR).

It's so annoying and frustrating though, not to mention the additional cost to bear.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please throw them my way. Or if anyone had a PR card ship to US, please let me know about that too. Thank you !

Received 3 cards today! 1 card still not received yet.
Card mailed out June 24/27, received July 15.
Another card not received mailed out by June 27, wish to see it by next week.
Landed April 26th, BC, no photo resumbission (provide new size photo)

Hi Everyone!

My card finally arrived today. I landed on April 28 in Calgary. My card was mailed out on June 27 and got here on July 15th. I have to say card was made on June 22, so it took like 5 days for them to mail it.

Also, I noticed a bar code just on the back of the envelope that matches the bar code behind the letter that hold the card. Just mentioning because maybe CIC or CP could track those letters using that code. But, it's just my guess. I don't know.

Anyway, glad the wait is over, Yay! I am still waiting for my refund cheque for the BOWP, but hope to see it i the mail next week.

At least my PR card is here and not lost in CP limbo!
