Where exactly in ECAS, will it be coming as a 6th line in ECAS as 5th one was that we landed on XXX date and became permanent resident?

What about address page in ECAS, has it been updated with your canadian address? If yes, then can you tell us when it was updated in that page?

There are two addresses shown. Current Home Address and Current Mailing Address. My current mailing address is correct and current, however my current home address is old address. So I am guessing it's the mailing address which should be updated. Right?

Yes, may be. But i was talking about address in this link: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=coanotify&lang=en

Please see and let me know whether your canadian address in your ECAS Application Status Link and what about in this Address Change link?

You said your current mailing address is appearing on ECAS, is this canadian address or address outside Canada?

In ECAS, Home Address is showing Pakistani Address. Mailing Address is showing Canadian address.

The link you have provided, I used it to change address.

Hello All,

My PR application is in process and I am waiting for my ppr. After going through this informative blog, I think it takes a long time to get PR card, once a new immigrant arrives in Canada.

Is it possible that after i receive my COPR, I come to Canada for a short time, apply for my PR card, and then return back to my home country.

Meanwhile, my friend in Canada, whose residential address I will be using for PR card, can collect my card once issued , and courier it to me in my home country. I can then travel back to Canada after settling and winding up my affairs here.

Is this option feasible ?

Do I need to be personally present to receive my PR card which comes by post ?

Your advise will be extremely helpful for my plans...

Thanks !!

Land after you settle your issues, you can't sail in two boats at a time. Days outside Canada don't count anyway.

People do send it to friends and get it couriered but in some cases for quality assurance purpose CIC ask the applicant to pickup the PR card from a local CIC office. That means CIC wants you to be present in Canada, that's how I interpret. I may be totally wrong.

It is possible, but not recommended, for two reasons:
1. it takes long to get your PR card now. If CIC realizes you didn't land to start living in Canada, but only for the sake of landing, they can go so far as to take your PR away completely. Landing means moving to Canada to start living herein CIC eyes (makes sense, actually).
2. if there is any problem with your PR cars (e.g. gets lost in mail, which happens now and then), you have to give a statement you didn't receive it, and then they have 6 months to send you a new one, which again can be a problem with point 1.

I wouldn't gamble, after such a long PR process, but it is your choice. The best for you, which such long waiting time forPR card, is to land when you can actually move to Canada, as hime suggested.

Questions -
1. Does CIC sent all cards in a single envelope?
2. Are the cards sent from Nova Scotia?

Hi! I can answer only the first one, since I didn't bother to look were my card was sent from, I was just happy to have received it. Regarding multiple cards, many people reported they have received card for principle applicant separate from the cards for their spouse/kids. Don't get surprised if this happens to you, because it is common.

Hey Guys,

those who already received PR card, what kind of mail it is sent via? the reason I am asking is because I am doing a mail forwarding service, as I am relocating, and I want to make sure
the kind of mail I receive PR card via is included in the mail forwarding service.

is it a letter? canada post? some other private mailing company? requires signature? what if you were not home? all information would be useful.
