Doesn't matter at all. Upon coming back to Canada you enter and complete your landing as a PR, whatever
your previous status might've been.

You just can't leave Canada on implied status and come back, thinking you still are on implied status. When you leave Canada while on implied status, you loose said status.

Responde to my own message, I did receive my passport in the Xpresspost envelope and landed last week. All the best, everyone

Hi everyone,

I sent my passport on Sept 25 and CIC received it on the next day. Until today, I haven't received any mail yet from CIC and my tracking number hasn't actived.

What I'm nervous about is that I made mistake on the returning envelope. I ripped off the top part of the mailing lable, instead of copying the tracking number. I know it is stupid, but I realized it after sending out the package. Of couse, my mailing address is still shown on the envelope, but my friend said CIC can't send back my passport using that Xpresspost envelope since they need the top part, which I ripped off and kept for myself. Did anyone make the same mistake and still got their passport back in the Xpresspost envelope? (I hope no one did, but I need help here) I'm afraid that my passport might get lost using the regular mail. I sent an email to CIC 5 days ago, but they didn't get back to me.

Another help, can someone tell me what's the time requirement for landing? between receiving passport and landing.

Hi, Can you explain what does it means "Implied Status" , My situation is i got COPR, will do landing in Dec (will give Friend address for PR Card) and will stay in canada only for 2 days and come back to US and will go back again after an year. Is this situtation acceptable?

dont worry, you should be surely getting it next week. I was worried the same way and sent 3 emails to ottpilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca but never received a reply.

Hi All.
I am asking the same urgent question again for this thread for my issue in sending Passport from India.
I have lived in Canada as a worker(postdoc) for the past three years. This year, while living in Canada,
I had applied for my Canadian permanent residency in CPP-O in Jan 27, 2013. I came to India in May 2013 to join a job here,though my Canadian work permit expiry is April 2014.
As I already mentioned earlier, I received a letter of confirmation from CIC on 28th Oct13 for my Canadian Permanent Residency. As per the letter,
I have been asked to mail in my passport to CPP-O. To courier passport from India to overseas is not legal, that in most countries this is not even permitted .So, in reality no option to send Passports for stamping from CPP-O and get it back.
I am deep in trouble, as I need to send my passport to CPP-O immediately for stamping.
I realise that this is a special case. Since I am in India.
I learn from the Indian Postal Department that Indian Government does not allow Postal Department or
any private or international courier to accept Passports for delivery in any foreign country.
But i called DHL this morning & the agent said Yes, but with authorized letter from MEA, India.

My question here is which is safest way to send PP and to get it back to my Indian address from CPP-O ?

Since I have to act upon it within 60 days, please advise me on the above matter ASAP and share your experience!
A prompt reply will be greatly appreciated.

As you can see this is my first post in this blog... I just want to add my 2 cents to this table that did brought relief and hope during those "endless waiting days".

Is there a way to include all of our dates?

My wife and I got our PR with the AINP and did the flagpoling at Croutts border.

how long did it take?
did the officer asked for any other documents beside the passport and COPR?
was the experience good overall or you had any issues?

For me tracker got activated yesterday evening and i should get my passport back today itself.
It was a 11 months of hard work and support from this group was incredible.
Just took 2 weeks for me since i sent my passport.

Im living in Montreal right now.


I have send my Passport and it was received on August 28, 2013 to Ottawa.

Till now, I haven't received anything from the CIC yet. It's been 9 weeks already

Does anyone have to waiting such a long time like me ? Is it any problem with my file ? Do they send me the Passport or I have to wait for the email ?
