I have a similar situation as you. I am travelling on Dec 21st with tickets already purchased back in June. I landed on Sep 29 and it will be a month this 29th. I sent my ticket copy with the passports and got my passports back in 20 days.

During landing, I asked the officer if I can have urgent processing for PR card and he said that everyone wants urgent processing, in other words he said no...so I did not argue with him. Actually urgent processing is only available to those who are applying for renewal or have lost it as per CIC website. Anyways last week I sent a letter to PR card processing Center in Sydney, NS mentioning that I purchased my tickets even before getting PR status and requested them to consider my case.

Normal processing time as of 23rd October is 54 calendar days now (7 weeks and 5 days). At this pace, I should get it by November end but just for safe side I sent the letter. The processing time is decreasing weekly. The first time i saw it was 70 days, week later it was 63, then 61 and now 54.
I guess the end of strike has made all this processing speed possible.

I would suggest you to do the same thing and hope for the best. Land as soon as you get ur ppts. Don't waste even a single day.

sali84 thanks for your reply and information. I will land same day I get my passport and then cross my fingers. Otherwise, I will have to request a Travel Documents for Residents abroad. I don't know how complex is to apply for that I hope it is easy :(

Thanks!!

Congrats to those who recently got PPR and Visa! We just recently finished our medicals this week and looking forward for PPR after a week or two. Please wish us luck.

Note: Dont be confused with my timeline, that's for my SOWP but we have a PR application for CEC. ;)

Congrats! When was your passport received by Ottawa?

Still no passport, no tracker activated...

on 21st Oct, I sent an email to CIC about my passport. The next day , my tracker got activated and I received my passport on 23rd Oct. Though my Visa was issued on 8th Oct itself, not sure why they kept PP and COPR till I sent them a reminder. I waited almost 30 days for my PP and COPR to come back. I think, wait and watch game sometimes doesn't work.
I think, its better to send an email about PP and COPR after two weeks or so. Anyhow, it ended well. We completed landing at Fort Erie on Saturday ( 26th Oct).
It was really smooth. Made the U turn and waited for 30 minutes in the car and went inside and out in 15 minutes. Total 45 minutes. The lady at the counter didn't ask for any documents other then PP and COPR. I even offered my WP if we need to return it and she said she will shred it anyhow and asked me keep it for my records.

It took little over a year for complete process. Our app was received on 11 Oct 2012. MR came on 10th July 2013. Medicals completed on 23rd July at Dr. Saldanah, mississauga. CIC received the results and 31st and reviewed and passed on the same day ( according to GCMS).
Then received RPRF,biodata,PPR on 18th Sept. CIC received everything on 23rd Sept. received PP and COPR on 23rd Oct and landed on 26th Oct.

Thanks for all your suggestions during the process. Tons of valuable information around here. I wish every other discussion forum is like this. Initially we wanted to go for a lawyer, but after seeing several threads here , we decided to go by ourselves and its the best decision we made. We saved at least $3000.

All the best to those who are still waiting. Just sit tight & wait and watch.
Thanks

I completely agree. My PPR situation was exactly like this, when everybody before me has gotten their PPR but not me. I had to send in an email asking for progress, before mine was suddenly sent.

Now it's been 28 days since CIC received my passport, I think I'm gonna send an email again... Sign

By the way, how did you send in your RPRF receipt? Did you email to cppo-cost-recovery@cic.gc.ca like they asked, or did you mail the receipt along with your passport?

I did all 3, I replied to the RPRF email request with the pdf receipt, sent one to cppo-cost-recovery @ cic.gc.ca, and then when I got PPR, it asked for RPRF again, so I also sent in a physical receipt with my passport.

The IMMIGRATION VISA issued date is nothing but your PR approval date.
