I am protected person.My sister is applying for a visa to visit me. The form asks for my status. I am not giving her an invitation letter. She wants to visit.

It's a hard question to answer.

Generally speaking, it is more difficult to get a TRV approved if you have a family member in Canada who has claimed refugee status.

Your sister should look to put together a strong application. This would include showing employment and property ownership in her home country (to show ties to her home country). She should also be able to show she has a healthy bank balance to pay for her trip. Additionally, if she has previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK, she should show that.

She needs to be honest about your status in Canada in the TRV application.

There are many factors come into play in this situation. Her age, social status, travel history and economic status back home...if she lacks most of these factors, and if her age is prime age, chances are slim.. But if she has both strong social and economic status, her chances improves...
