I applied for refugee protection from within Canada, and my claim was approved. I am now applying for permanent residence (PR) as a protected person and currently filling out form IMM 5669.
One of the questions asks: “Have you made previous claims for refugee protection in Canada or at a Canadian visa office abroad, in any other country or territory, or with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)?”
I’m unsure how to answer this. Should I select “Yes” because I previously made a refugee claim in Canada (the one that was approved)?
Or does the word “previous” refer only to refugee claims made before the claim that was accepted?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how this question is interpreted?
