Good luck to all, hope works out because for me i did sponsore my husband and he got his free ticket to canada now he is gone because 2 years leaving with me is over. It was all game but there is lots of this cases. Karma is a bi***

Best of luck to all
I am very sorry you had to go through this. I am sure it is a devastating experience, but time will heal all wounds and there is something positive you can take from this: You have learned a valuable lesson and will not be taken advantage of again. Also, be happy that you are rid of someone who does not deserve you. Now you know exactly who he is and you are better off this way. Thanks for the kind wishes and best of luck to you as well. :)

@schweisy You were asking about processing times in Vienna right?
Well I'm waiting since December 2018 after I passed the medical exam and the application was transferred nothing happened.
So good luck to you guys. I wouldn't bank on a fast turn around time. But then again: others that applied way later than me through Vienna have gotten PR already so who knows.

@K0nsumHure If I may ask, when did you submit your app and what is your AOR2 date?
None of us can bank on anything, that's pretty clear, but waiting 8 months is still much better than 12. :) Each case has its own timeline depending on applicable factors. For some, review of relationship proof takes a bit longer. Some applicants' background check also takes longer due to travel history, military records etc. Not sure if yours has started yet. Let's not expect too much, but hope for the best! Good luck! :)

@WYWH I just created the immitracker thing.

Received July 30th
AOR1 November 21st (after my sponsor called in and the operator was like: "oh yeah someone should have looked at it already")
SA approval November 27th
Medical Request November 22nd
Medical done December 17th
Medical passed (I think) January 4th
AOR 2 December 4th

Nothing from Vienna since December 4th. It's getting really frustrating. :(

Oh, you are late July applicant. I've been feeling so bad for most of June/July applicants this whole time because it seemed to me it was you guys who were mostly affected by that huge backlog at CIC. More than 4 months is a really long time for stage 1 of the process. That didn't give me much hope, but I thought that at least the pace would pick up for us September applicants. Didn't happen. My app was transferred 4.5 months after submission, so I understand your frustration. You are nearing 8 months since the start. Does your GCKey show anything for BGC? Is it in process? I believe that for people who have a long period of silence, everything comes all at once at the very end. If they haven't asked for additional docs/proof, you should be hearing from them soon. Hang in there and keep us posted! :)

Yes, that's me -- thanks so much for answering with your experience! Obviously not what I want to hear about Vienna, but it's good to hear from as many people as possible, since Vienna seems not to be posted about that often around here. I can completely imagine how frustrating it is to have utter silence for this long, especially considering how long you had to wait for AOR1 with that horrible summer backlog. Meanwhile there's people who applied after me in December who have gotten PPR via Mississauga. It's hard not to get a little grumpy sometimes about the unfairness of it all.

I agree with @WYWH -- you're probably going to suddenly hear everything all at once. It's just the wait in total silence, not knowing how far away you are, that is so agonizing. Did you get any pre-arrival services email? My hopeful estimate is that it takes 3-4 months from AOR2 -- I know I know, this might be way too optimistic, but here's hoping you hear something April 4th and prove me totally right!!!! :)

By the way, where are you getting this info? It's so hard for me to find timelines on Vienna, and none of the ones I've seen seem to be that quick.

I wish I knew what the heck they were doing all this time -- how complicated can an application from Germany be, if you haven't done a lot of military service or resided abroad...? If the applications just sit on a desk this whole time waiting, then could we hire a couple more employees at least?! o_O

@schweisy
I almost want Vienna to request additional docs from us. (a new PCC for example, since ours expired in December) I have a feeling that when you submit additional docs, it makes them have another look at your file and it may very well cut your waiting time. I contacted Vienna VO via webform in late February. At this time I submitted "Use of Representative form" so that I could receive info on behalf of my husband who is a PR. I used this opportunity to officially ask about AOR2 because I wanted to make sure they did get the file on Feb 1st. Surprisingly, I received an e-mail from Vienna in which they confirmed that my AOR2 was Feb 1st. (this e-mail came early March) 2 weeks later, I received Pre-arrival letter.
I could be completely wrong too. :) Any thoughts or theories on this at all? ;):D

Hey everyone,
I just got my passport request tow days ago and my situation is a little bit complicated. My pass is expired and it's hard to renew it right now. Is there any way to travel without pass ? It sounds crazy but i heard that there is kind of (one way visa) or something like that.
Could anyone help me please?

Do you have a refugee status in Germany? If so, I believe you should be able to get a Refugee Travel document. It would only be valid for one trip to Canada. Many years ago, I came to Canada the same way and if I am not mistaken, Canadian embassy in the country I resided in issued that document. You should inquire with a Canadian embassy. If they are not able to issue one, they can at least instruct you how and where to obtain it.
Congrats btw. and I hope you have enough time to obtain this document and make your trip before your visa expires.
