My wife was asked in Dec to do her RCMP record check...once it was in their hands, she received decision made a week later. Hopefully the same will happen to you!

Fingerprints are always required for a background check in Canada, to my knowledge.

Yes they did...find a place that does electronic finger printing...way faster!

We are waiting 6 months now just hope it would be all over in 1-2 months,and finally be with my husband. And they are from Bosnia too. They even got approval from Mississauga a month after us,but that just luck like youre said .

My point is that your first part took too long, unfortunately, but for the Vienna part you should expect somewhere around 6 months in total, although that is just what I've seen lately, can be less or more. I certainly hope you will wait less

My point is that your first part took too long, unfortunately, but for the Vienna part you should expect somewhere around 6 months in total, although that is just what I've seen lately, can be less or more. Does anyone know where to get fingerprints done in Bosnia that is approved by the RCMP? Vienna is asking for RCMP certificate and they need new fingerprints. Nowhere in the request do they state how to go about doing this. It is all very confusing, hoping someone can help!

This morning my ecas was changed to IN PROCESS and just a couple hours later received request to send my passport ... Finally Thank God and thank you all. Good luck to all,still got fingers crossed for others who are waiting

Same happened to me Seems like Vienna starts processing, and then updates Ecas when the processing is done, funny. Congratulations, but do not buy any tickets until you get your copr and pp back.

Thank you sooo much Lol I'm so excited cant belive this waiting games is finally over. I'll sent tomorrow my passport to my friend in Vienna,give her autorisation to hend over the documents in mine name so I will get my passport back soon Will they send COPR by mail or they will give to my friend ?

I am not sure, because I didn't know they can do it the same day (and I was in Canada, so I sent mine to Ottawa). They should, those two go together, and CoPR is just printed out of the system, so it's less work than actual visa that has to be stamped into the passport. Good luck!

,"as we all thought Vienna office is fast lately" - It only seems fast because many of the applications have no red flags and are easy application to process.

Congratulations on a quick turn around, you're one of the lucky ones.

We on the other hand, are still waiting after 17 months and have no idea, what the hold up is.

Photo request on: February 18th 2015


We have had issues in Mississauga more so than Vienna, in Mississauga when I sent the application one of the PDFs got updated so the application was "incomplete", had to send in the new document. For a couple of weeks we didn't know if the paper was received or the application in process.

Now in Vienna things have overall been good compared to the horror stories on here.

They've requested our passport on February 11th with an additional document that I missed some information on, we used a VFS Global (CVAC) to send the passport/document. On February 18th they sent us an email requesting 3 passport sized photos which were not part of the original request when they asked for the Passport, we sent this using registered mail so we could track it. It is strange to me that they requested the photos afterwards.

I have tried to call/email the office to confirm our photos have arrived to the correct person, no response.

I was told they won't contact us unless they need something and that they won't contact us when the passport is sent back as well? Hopefully they use the same method I sent the passport in to send it back (CVAC) and not registered mail

Anyway, we're basically just waiting now and checking emails.

My wife lives in Bosnia and I live in Vancouver, BC.
