My husband got the document request email last month, but we still haven't gotten a 3rd line in Ecas. No "medical receive" line. Even though we sent in with application. Is that normal to sometimes not see that? Also, does doc request mean they are getting closer to making decision? I'm just so excited for everyone who's been getting DM lately, I'm hoping I'm coming up soon. Fingers crossed.
Hi Brewbrew85,

I am in the exact same boat. Still only 2 lines on Ecas...hopefully we both here some good news soon!

Okay I finally got through with CIC, they said there's been an "additional delay" and there was a batch of us who are late, I am probably "in that group" and should receive the card by the end of this month. Hope she's right, she didn't even ask for my file or UCI number to look up my file :/

Your validated COPR should be enough to get you started (this may depend on the province).
You can trade your US DL for a Canadian one-- though until you get the PR Card, you may be given a paper license that can be turned into a photocard once you can show them your PR Card.

For Health Insurance, this will vary by province again, but your COPR should be enough for an initial application. Again, your PR card will likely be required at some point in the process, but your COPR should be enough to start you off.

Anyone who landed in October get their PR card yet? I landed on Oct. 5th and still don't have it. I tried the call centre just now but they wouldn't even put me on hold due to a "high volume of calls", pfft.
ChellyCat, how long is it supposed to take to get your PR card? When you came through on your COPR, did they give you an "estimated time" to receive it in the mail?

My husband and I got DM last week. We are currently trying to be patient waiting for the COPR to arrive in the mail. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep busy by gathering info on what comes next… AB healthcare card, SIN, and all that fun stuff. If anyone has any info or experience on what comes next, please share!!

Congrats on your DM. I personally received my COPR in 6 days, went and got a SIN immediately after landing (took 5 minutes). I haven't yet applied for an Ontario health card, because apparently you must be a PR for 3 months to qualify. I've still got about a month to go.

According to the CIC website, PR card takes 71 days to arrive, and I'm at exactly that. So hopefully the agent I spoke to was correct that I'll get it by the end of the month :/

Thank you :) I noticed that when I log into my portion of the Ecas (applicant) it shows my home address as my house in the states, but my mailing as my address in Canada. When I sent them my docs from the request I updated my address information, should it matter? As long as the COPR gets mailed to the right place

Apparently you can still apply in those 3 months, though eh? So it comes automatically at the 3 month point.

Hey. Has anyone been through the same situation as us…

We got DM last week. Just this morning we received an email (posted below). I know the USA is a visa-exempt country so we don't have to send a passport, but are we required to re-submit passport photos?? We had submitted them with our original application in June. I think the passport photos are good for only 6months… We are probably right around 6/7 months now, so maybe that's why? Or is this just a blanket message that goes out to everyone as a reminder to send passport photos in if they weren't originally included??

Anyone who has been through this process and received this email, please help. Thank you, and good luck to all.
