Here are two posts that may help you plan:VAtoBC said:I'm sure I've read posts on the topic of importing your vehicle as part of settler's effects, but am having trouble finding info using this site's search engine. Does anyone have tips for filing on AES to get ITN? My spouse tells me there's a 34-item questionnaire you have to pass to proceed any further? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good customs broker near Pacific Highway crossing in Blaine/Surrey to help us with this?
- Process to import your car (aka step-by-step guide). You just need to add registering with AES to that, a requirement after I wrote the step-by-step guide - see the link "Exporting Vehicles to Canada" off of http://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/export-docs/motor-vehicle. Take a look into AES Direct (option 1 at the top left of the page) as it would save you the need for a freight forwarder. People on here have both taken the quick quiz after reading the booklet and had a third party do the AES registration for them. You can see info on AES Direct at http://aesdirect.census.gov/.
